Any info from Ark studios about what has happened with VU12.9?

Sorry, but this is really the wrong place to ask this. Bringing the ppl from Ark staff in a situation they can not answer in the needed way, only because the <self-censored> from the other side of the universe have no idea how to run a business is bit unfair. No offense Björn, but this is really the right question to the wrong ppl.

I'm quite sure A-Team is capable to formulate an answer in an approbate way, without violating any NDAs.
But I'm also quite sure they don't know much more than we do ...

In any way it would be nice to hear from A-Team, even it would be something like this:

"Sorry guys, we're as clueless as you are. We're in contact with MA HQ but haven't got any hard facts yet we'd be able to share with you. Promised that we'll keep pressing and that we'll share any news as fast as they come! Thank you for your patience!"

Whereas I'd prefer something like this:

"Hi guys, we're as clueless as you are. But the fit has hit the shan, as we say here. I'll share a secret with you, don't tell anybody about, please! We have started "Operation Friedly Visit", that has been in preparation for some time already. Our secret agents have clandestinely installed a teleporter at MA HQ, in the broom closet right next to the hamster hall, in the basement.

While I'm writing this some elite squads should have arrived the Oratan wave spawn points, carrying other transportable teleporters, a special version made to be operated by lifeforms of lesser intellect. (For sure the target one at MA isn't of this kind, we'll accept no risk ...).
And our special TopSecret UberElite Conquer and Hold team (TSUECHT) should have arrived Sweden by now, and will be in place and ready in a few hours.
Plan is to lure them Oratan through the teleporters and have them do the dirty work.

It's assumed by our scientists that Oratan in the, for them, cold and alien environment of Sweden shouldn't have long a life span. Experiments with some caught ones showed they'd express signs of heavy pain, they'd go into a fearsome frenzy and will literally rip apart anything that moves.
All, but hamsters, they seem to fear them for some strange matter. We have a video of 5 mature Oratan crying in horror, clung to the ceiling of their cage, while one little hamster searches the floor for left over food - we'll share it with you once this is over! Too cute ...
Ah, and the Oratan will then die within 3 - 6h once arrived.

And now we need your help. As soon as we have received the "Ready" signals from all teams we'll give out an Arkadian Alert Call to all Arkadian colonists. You are supposed to find the next Oratan wave spawn, trigger it, and vanish through the teleporter - showing them how these work. Since they are supposed to follow you, it's important to remember the next steps, burn them into your brain:

You'll arrive in the broom closet at MA HQ. Only one door. Step out, head left, next door left then that reads "Hamster Hall". Enter as fast as possible, and avoid the door area where you entered. Stay there until the TSUECHT enters the room and debriefs you. Stay there - you'll not want to meet a horde of ravishing Oratan, believe me!
Oh, yes, forgot. Be kind, and carry some carrots and bombardos - you'll need the hamsters for your defense, and only a fat hamster is a fearsome hamster, right?

After it is over you may plunder MA HQ. Don't take any electronic equipment, we might need it later. TSUECHT will guard it anyways, obey their commands! But there's rumors that theres some rooms filled with ModFaps and similar goodies! When ready, use the teleporter to go back, or simply hit "T". Best loot to you!

For Arkadia! Stay tuned, and polish your weapons! It's the time of decision, it's the time history is made! Arkadia forever!

Can someone explain to me whats wrong, and provide data that backs it up if it's about loots?

I have data from a few low level mobs and nothing is out of order on that, so whats the mess on Arkadia?
(we all know the Arkoin brokers isn't working or ACA missions etc..)

 

It's not all about loot I guess. There are other things happend after last VU (out-of-sync-bug, unusal line of no looters on BIG mobs, invisible TPs etc. etc. etc) Nobody of MA has answered questions at $otherforum about so far.

About loot in general I can only give you some of my data: I stopped hunting at november 13th. At that date I was at hunting rank 648 on Tracker. Normaly when I stop hunting, this rank drops fast, but this time it raises every day. This has never happend before to me. Make your own thoughts about this. Currently at Rank 609. Everyone I talked with has massive impact on personal loot so far. Be happy if you can say that's not the case at you.

 

nothing against you Danton, but the tracker ranking isn't really speaking about the tt returns or item etc..
sure no looters I heard, but I haven't seen anything about how the tt returns is...

Your friends are they on Arkadia and noticed this, or on Caly as most of the complaints come from?

and yes I'm happy my data don't show anything weird and sadly I only got one more friend who been online enough and track the returns so not a big sample with two people but for neither of us is the tt return lower then expected or other things.

EDIT:
checked with a couple of friends who hunt big mobs, but ofc no data just "feelings" and they say the loots down on other planets too (still no one who hunted big here tho).

So the issues is with big mobs then I guess

Most are On Calypso, you are right. You are also right that tracker doesnt show how general loot is atm, but the ranking example tells me that ppl don't hunt much atm. Otherwise the ranks would drop and not raise, like it was always before. This trend is not normal for this time of the year. But as said in my first post, this is the wrong place (for me) to go deeper into discussion about what is going on after last 2 VUs, because PP have nothing to do with this problems. The main problem is located in Gothenburg. And from there we should request answers.

Somehow I feel loosing 300 PED in 3 hours of midlevel hunting is bullsh!t³ ! (Justifier MK2 VS. Riptors using Ghost Armor)

Id rather craft OreAMps 101, cause thats more like a slot-machine feeling...

 

I assume you have been around this game long enough to see that your returns are also directly related to your playing style Mccormick?

 

McCormick, nothing can help bad loot cycles but your gear is pretty uneco unless you are very high level. Ghost dura is kind of low and I ran the numbers on justifier mkII in entropedia and even at lvl 70 the dpp is imo quite awful.

 

There was an issue with some server going down and therefore L items didn't drop for a while (for more info, there's a thread somewhere on PCF).
The rest is just the usual EU-style rumors and hearsay, a la "killed 2 mobs, got only novas, the sky is falling!!!"

If one day there's no more complaints like this, i'd be really alarmed - that would mean something serious has happened.

 

Indeed. I know that. I know its all about beeing super-eco, to minimize your loss in this casino.

But from the perspective of a casual gamer it feels like this:
Each riptor had loot. I even looted a 44 PED Herman something. Couldnt stop then. Each run was like 30-40 PED loss anyway.
I was hoping for a global, to get at least rewarded with a funky sound effect.
I dont have time to loot-chase and I cant test out different mobs on a 100 PED run, to check if "they are hot or not".

I understand that I can loose thousands of peds on crafting in some hours. But 30$ in 3 hours hunting "Mid-level", no matter on how un-eco I do it...I mean, I dont use Swine Deluxe + EMT Kit 2500 Deluxe... ;p

Maybe thats also a psychological thing. The "L" weapon/amp/armor is gone after beeing used up (I still really dislike this whole "L" stuff anyway) and my MKII I can repair as much as I wish...or not.

I know there are a lot of un-eco items in this casino. I use ghost since 2005.
I dont need to fap myself on riptor using ghost (I use herb kit when needed, if at all) and up to "Mature" I have no problem shooting it down "fast enough".

Also the loss wasnt because of a high repair bill (100 PED run = 2 PED decay on the MKII and 2-4 PED decay on the Ghost). Also I did not need to use/decay a fap.

I know I could do "better". I know I could do more eco.

I could just buy a bigger "L" gun or a more eco armor. Or I could just hunt baby mobs all day without armor. But as a "mid-level" player I dont really want that.

So, in my opinion, if you dont use Swine Deluxe + EMT Kit 2500 Deluxe, Id say, Justifier MKII + Ghost shouldnt be a neckbraker if you (claim to) know what you doing.

Hi McCormick,

I would agree that the main thing is to play in a way that is enjoyable for you but the justifier is just a bad weapon. I use quite a few unlimited weapons but they all have sib with dpp at around 2.8 or higher, before I amp up. If I were using the justifier I would be getting around 2.5 (I'm lvl 58). So I get 12% more kills for my peds, take less decay on my armour.

I just think you could play in the way you want to play while maybe going with some more appropriate gear. Of course if the loot isnt dropping for you, you are still screwed but maybe, being able to kill a few more mobs for your peds, you would have a chance of getting past the low points.

Yes it will. Unless you're above level 70 or 80, they'll bleed you dry quick unless you're really lucky. As you know, you have to play a while to see average return rates. I wish would give us a choice of mobs that gave "95% return guaranteed" after 20 mobs killed, but that's not how loot goes.

 

I gotta go with McCormick on using the oldschool gear.
2 reasons that I stick with my oldschool stuff.. first I own it.. no sense letting it sit in storage not doing anything. second.. I have tried the limited stuff and even the maxed gear that is L misses a shit ton more for me then my un maxed gear with good scopes n lasers.

I also find my other theory holds true for me as well. I dont EVER see MA rewarding people for being cheap.. So I have a little more decay using oldschool stuff.. I dont seem to have as big a loss swing when using my oldschool gear as much as I did with the L stuff.

One of the biggest falisies I believe in game is everyone touting "Eco" as a must do thing to survive in EU. The loot returns are based on time and ped cycled. If you are cycling using "eco" gear you are spending less on what counts twords your returns but MORE on the added cost of MU every time you buy something L that DOES NOT FACTOR into your returns. Soo before you even step on to the playing field to hunt you are at a loss.

Eco is simply a way to make YOUR in game money last a slight bit longer IMO. It does in now way effect your returns by using it. Secondly ANY benefits that MA gave to L gear when they added it into game I am positive has been nerfed to minimal effects by now.

The bottom line getting back to the thread topic is that there is no bugs when pertaining to returns.. THAT you can garantee is the ONLY thing MA makes sure is perfect to what they desire in EVERY VU..The Bugs are simple means to distract your attention from that and they sit back saying nothing letting everyone speculate shit returns are due to bugs when the system in that regard is working as intended.

Its a pattern that has been in effect for the ENTIRE 6 years I have played..It only evolves over time in various maifestations of "New VU OOPSIES" they tactfully blame all our loseses on.

I find the best stratagy in game is to NOT do anything but suck up band width for the first week MINIMUM after a VU and let the addicted gamblers go find all the bugs. THEN do sporadic test runs to see how much the Obvious problems are getting ressolved.. THEN in about 3 weeks time the REAL nerf can be seen that will stay once all the smoke clears over the bigger blatantly obvious preplanned "Oopsis" have been resolved.

Its a pattern and if you pay attention you can almost see over time how and what will change by the hour as time goes on after a VU.

I also had positive experiences with "wasting PEDs" on repair terminals, instead of trying out "L" stuff with very high MU, that you had to TT in the end.
(yes, I had tested some "L" weapons and thats exactly the reason why I stopped using them)

Agreed. A sudden login+deposit can cause explicit harm to your PED card if you dont browse the forum on a daily basis. :/
