Now this was originally from a thread started by calemus here:

    http://www.arkadiaforum.com/showthread.php?329-L.A.-s

But I believe the idea I came up with to solve his problem of high cost Land Areas is worth it's own thread...

Mindark/Arkadia Studios could sell LA's as percentages...like a pie for example...split up say into 100 pieces...so an individual could literally invest in a piece as small as 1% for a Land Area...

So assume an LA cost say 200K peds or $20k USD...

break it up into 100 pieces...sell each piece for say 3000 ped(more if the demand is there...maybe less if not) ^_^...fairly reasonably price that many MANY people could and would be willing to invest...

    3000 x 100 = 300K ped or $30K USD

Guess what...Mindark/Arkadia Studios just made $10k USD more money off of the SAME size piece of property...the only extra work involved might be some coding to split the taxes evenly...not hard I presume...

If I had the money (and I hate to give this idea away for free...but I will likely never have the money) I would build a planet and sell ALL the land to players over time...and then once all the land was sold (if in small pieces you would make millions...) I would just profit from the decay/auction/advertising in game...or put a clause in that gives me 1% of all loots! lol...:fineprint:

if someone happens to use this idea contact me so I can rant and rave about how I should of/could of/would of done that if I had the money...and so you can hire me ;)...because although I am not always good at coming up with new ideas...I am always good at taking ideas and making them better...

    might be happening

In some limited way that may already be happening..not a 100 people mind you, but definitely pardners chipping in to buy land. They may only have 10 people chipping in, but I'll bet it's being done.As far as this idea goes, and my idea for selling smaller pieces of land..and yes..I mean for personal properties, not businesses,it could definitely work even if all they do is make a link, or spot on the forums,or auctions, where people can advertise for pardners for their next land deal, so everyone can see what's going on.:fineprint:

yes I agree it probably is being done...a lot even...but many people do not trust going in with someone on a land area...especially someone they only know online(I have a total of 0 real life friends playing EU)...this way many people could go in without any sort of agreement with another person/player...and no risk from scammers...

It is done for sure, take Medusa on Calypso for example. In stead of all the people that wanted to buy it bidding against each other they decided to work together and get Medusa for WAY less that FPC anticipated I'm sure. It is all a thing of trust though.

Trusting others in game? (starts to sweat, shakes begin..) NOOOO, (runs into forest to hide)...well that explains why I'm not a pardner with someone..lol. I am one of those odd folks that play EU like I'm all alone..been in several socs, having me in one seems to be the kiss of death, but that's ok, I like doing things alone...it proves I can do it, not me and a dozen others, just me..so as you can see ego has nothing to do with it...lol.

Exactly and such as system would remove the trust issue completely!!! So go for it Arkadia Studios and if you can't then try to get MA to make it happen. :) I think that will really make the properties for sale on Arkadia much more valueable even on the long run.
