Arkadia Launch Party: Location POLL

Surely the best place would be the arrivals TP on Arkadia welcoming everyone to the new planet.

I know it's really for the night before but after todays failed update it would seem better to have the launch party on Arkadia partly so that it can last 24hours as people from each time zone login

 

Well, since as soon as anyone gets to Arkadia they will hit the ground running I doubt anyone would be up for a party. Having said that... Feel free to stand at the arrival TP all day if you want. I'll be Crafting, Hunting, Mining, Exploring.

 

You must have missed the Full Moon Parties, two of the best nights in EU.

Guess the track sitting around the hot tub and line dancing in TI castle.

Thats the spirit of EU I remember and miss the most. If getting some of that back (even if it's only for a while) means standing / dancing around the tp then I'll do it.

I'm ready regardless of where it is...don't think it really matters as all we care about is Arkadia...^_^ voted Athena Spaceport though...just found that place and like it....

 

OK... so far, it seems Athena is the most popular vote.

If we have it at Athena, should we just stay at the TP?

Or... would you want to head SE a bit from the TP to the DANCE TOWER!!!

The dance tower is very cool, but I'll be 1500 kg+ and walking slow. TP might be better.

 

I definitely love the dance tower, but Calin has a point - several might be weighted down and slow, and that wouldn't be good when it comes time to head over to Arkadia if we have to move back to the TP. Whatever is decided, I'm there, and will be taking photos and video for my first media report, and broadcasting live on MSR.

 

Although... many/most of us do have vehicles. hmm.

 

Yup, I thought about that, which is why I brought it up.
Later today I'll time how long it takes to walk at "red weight", and also time how long it takes to drive there.
(It is just SE of the TP across the bridge and up the hill a bit)

Yup.

 

Then I say the covered dance platform, it's just too cool, has great vistas, and if we're lucky, there might even be a magical sunset, which is beautiful from there.

And for those who don't have vehicles, I'm sure they could hitch a ride.

This is going to be a fun party.

Just the hangar TPs, so it goes to Athena or Corinth instead

 

Yeah... I logged on tonight and was standing on an empty patch of ground where I was inside next to storage just last night.

 

One thing I thought about ... as we party away, we will eventually get kicked off the server if we don't log out before they go down, so ... before that happens, we can all make our way over to the TP and log out there and wait till the servers come back up again.

 

That's pretty much what Max mentioned above. We will have the warnings so it shouldn't be a problem.

I was originally thinking I'd have everything on me for the party, but if we move at teh end of the party we can pick up stuff from storage then and be ready.

Ugh... I hate waiting. I'm ready to go NOW!

 

haha no way, I'll pick all the stuff before the party, not waiting to pick them at the last minutes - too risky

 

Trying to think positive that there won't be any delay in the VU on launch day, but thinking of the time of day it is likely to happen, depending on what time zone you are in, dancing the night away won't leave much energy for actually exploring the new planet the next day lol. I'm in the UK now, so have no plans to stay awake all night the night before proposed launch day for example, or for that matter staying up really late as it will be a week day. Guessing from the posts on here a lot of you are on another time zone and can manage this feat
