    Hi,
i know my account on this forum is fairly new, but i feel compelled to provide some feedback on the riptor spawns.
i dont think i have to explain how important the mining resources are to keep the economy going, and when two highly respected and active miners in the entropia community like mayana and pigbenis (ok i had to cough a little, pig) "feel cramped" http://arkadiaforum.com/showthread.php?4321-Miner-feeling-very-cramped-by-new-mob i think it is wise to take note of this. In case that thread went unnoticed by the devs i thought i would revisit the subject here.

For a miner it is important to be able to mine with as little distraction as possible, and placing highly aggressive mobs on good mining locations that contain resources valuable to the community is about as distracting as it gets. In the thread i referred to people suggested wearing armour or asking for hunters to escort them but these suggestions are not really practical, there just aren't enough hunters hanging around waiting at all hours with enough ammo to make this feasible, and wearing the right armour while being swarmed by riptors while trying to extract a claim would cause a level of decay that no miner is looking for, especially since none of this decay is returned through the claims, we already have extractor decay, refiner decay, finder decay, fuel use for our vehicles etc. to contend with. I dont know if the devs have tried aiming a extractor at a claim while a swarm of mobs is bouncing you around so i hope you will take my word for it when i say that calling it distracting does not cover the experience.
I have noticed that the arkadia devs are willing to listen to feedback from the community so i hope you will take into account the resources under the ground when placing aggressive high decaying mobs on top of them, both for this case and in future.

i have to agree but disagree.
theres lots of lifeless places on this continent and A-Team is successivly animating the fauna (and flora?).
thats what is probably making resources rare and expensive! if you can cope with beasts surrounding your claims you deserve it a bit more ;).

i know what you mean, it´s very disapointing to loose a good mining spot to some creatures with more teeth than brain.
you have to see i´m not a hunter, i can´t cope with most of the common mobs, but i see the intent. i´m not d´accord with it either but i think i have to adapt(it´s not all about area ;) )

please A-Team make the mining life not more complicated and let us have fun and success in the open wild.

I agree with Fallen. It's not like parts of calypso, where you see sparse mob spawns and it's not a problem to kill the occasional mob to dig out your claim. That can take away some of the tedium from mining. But... most of our spawns on Ark are dense (which is great for hunters) and most mobs have high hit rates. When you get ones that swarm (riptors, for example), it's impossible for normal miners to mine near them (or at least miners who don't want to use extremely expensive armor). Now, I don't mind mining among mobs, and I certainly don't mind if some high MU ores are hiding below mob spawns. I even mine among Yuka without too many problems and they're above my level. However, I think the miner's bread and butter will always be open areas, because you can be methodical and economical. Part of Arkadia's draw was that it was a miner's paradise, with higher-than-Caly MUs and wide open mobiles areas. We've lost a bit of that as more and more mobs are added, though we still have wide tracts of land that are mobless, hunting territory is crowding out mining territory. As I said in the other thread, I think the best solution is to expand Arkadia to new continents :) But obviously that's not something the A-team can accomplish in a day. Decreasing the size of some of the spawns would not hurt either. What I DO NOT want to see, is moving ores around. I rely on my maps.

I tried to mine thru a Kiana spawn last week and because of the way they tend to swarm around you, they got so thick that I probably spent 50 ped ammo for every claim I managed to dig up. Basically, was memorable, but not something I'm going to do if I actually want to accomplish some mining, and not very economical from a mining perspective either.

I'm not sure the A-team actually knows where everything under the ground is. My impression is that MA can change (and has changed) the universal ore spawns at a whim to keep the economy "balanced". For instance, the removal of Niks spawns on Caly recently, and the changes to universal ores on Ark a few months back. Maybe they share those changes with the PP, I don't know.

I know about the Riptor in the desert where I was mining before they show up there (example). You can forget to mine there now, true, but: There are really enough places to mine in peace on Arkadia. Wherever the Developers will place the spawns, there will always be a few ppl disappointed about the spawnlocation. Developers have no chance to do it right for everyone in this case. If you compare it with Calypso mining, so compare it with mining at Akmuul Atrox. You *can* do it, but if it is a good idea..... :)

We'll have a look at the Riptor spawns, see if there is room for some adjustment, ofc they have to go somewhere and Arkadia does have minerals everywhere, so where ever we put new mob spawns someone is likely to be disappointed.

    A new continent, woohooo! :)
We miners will do just fine. Those that don't adapt will just leave more for the rest of us...

    Now there's a thought. :hail:
But seriousy Arkadia is the best planet for undisturbed mining. I would hate too loose that if in the future more mobs make their appearance.

Sadly this is part of the "plan" for expansion. Mining is and always will be bottom of the list for MA when it comes to making money so as time goes by and things grow we can look forward to EVERY planet swamped with mobs like Caly as the hunters generate the most decay dollars for MA.

My issue is adding mob spawns where hunters NEVER bother to go..IE any mobs spawn NOT within one TP's distance from the revive will NEVER be hunted anything more then the passser thru or the random explorer because with the regen they lose too much money and become less effective.

The solution to make things fair for miners and hunters is to NOT arrange the spawns much further then one level II tp chips distance. This gives a decent area for the mob spawns and ass densnce and over populated as these spawns have become in the last 2 years there is always plenty mobs to kill. With the exception of the super geared up uber hunters this would be plenty for normal mid to upper level hunters. The ubers have more then enough places to go and things to do within EU for the few hundred true ubers to do as they have been more then catered too thruout EU's history. They ask for massive things for them to do and forget the oldest ones for the newest and the normal population loses more area for us to be and enjoy the game.

If these two things are resolved I think the game will move forward faster. Trying to force poeple who dont like to hunt to be dual professions is just to off putting to most gamers as we usually tend to lean in one of the 3 main directions. We also konw in EU that the cost to multi skill professions is insanely out of reach for all but the upper 1% to do effectively.

You write like mining is totally ruined now, but the new spawn does not make mining impossible in whole area, it's just a segment.

We need good high dense spawns. Also we need more high aggressive mobs, when a hunter want to skill fast. And we need spawns over wide areas where hunters don't send untouched mobs to other hunters (unwanted mob trains).

The world is still empty in so many places, there is no reason to whine about a few spawns... or did I missunderstand something?

OP dont worry, Lunchbox is here!

I can fix this pesky problem, I just need one thing.

The coordinates to where there is a dense spawn of mobs and really good resources to be mined.

I will make the sacrifice...... yes I will do it. I will go out and regularly exterminate all the red dots in the area while probing the shit outta the area effectivly gathering all the possible resources that can be mined there.

Due to this selfless act 3 things may happen.

    1. The economy will no suffer a loss of ore, treasure and enmatter..... because I will mine it
    2. There will not be a massive spawn of red dots........ because I will kill them.
    3. My pedcard will see a steady increase from the sale of such finds thru my selfless mining and hunting combined exploits, now coined as Munting... yes Mine-Hunting...

I will be Ark's premier Munter :p Now can some people please tell me the coordinates.

and on another note, its ok if these mobs are located outside of tp2 range, I have tp3 chip for that. There is nowhere the Lunchbox won't go for Munting as long as there is loot to be had.

    Have a nice day.

If you need to rent me as a hunter to clear red dots as u mine, I can do that as well. PM me and we can work out details

I promise I can kill it, If not, I call my fapper, then we deal with it :)

You don't need a fapper for these little armor shredders. I know of a spawn between Rocky Ridge and Dauntles FB. Tiarak are mingled with the Riptor spawn but still not many of those. I was there last night the most I had on me at one time was maybe 7 of them. I know there is another spawn but I can't remember off the top of my head, when I get home from work this evening I'll try to find them and let you know. I am not in game atm but you should be able to find them easily enough. Yes I did some TH while I was there as well so there is stuff to mine there. Have fun now you hear. :) And try to leave me a few as well please. And grab the mission for em if you have not got it already.

He never said that. Quite the opposite in fact. In an interview DD said they will be developing current continent before any new continents are released. He said current one has plenty of room for improvement/development.

This is understandable a new continent means more overheads in terms of servers etc. For a small company that's unjustifiable until we have an increase in population.

Correction was the best for undisturbed mining. It's getting increasingly difficult because of the increase in the number of mob spawns.

Maybe the new instances could allow clean mining areas? Since they are essentially different servers they can be made into whatever ark team want them to...

Raven, Munting, ROFL. I'll be sure to give you a call when I get a big claim in a nasty spawn. It's bound to happen some time or later.

Are these the aggressive mobs you talk about? Should I put some armor on? :) I understand the concern, but we should also have some good 'Munting' areas :)

Honestly, anyone who gets a claim they cant pull due to nasty mobs pm me in game and if im online I will come wipe them out. I know it can be a pain, but guys really we must remember ore and enmatter mu it high due to rarity either because of lack of large amounts to be found or due to it being found in pvp areas or with big nasties.... or it sounds like little nasties in this case.

Small riptors u can get over protected with as little as grem and 5b. if just grem, u dont really need the plates and its still 1 dmg if armor is fully repaired.

I can do a 400ped ammo hunt on them with my gremlin and no plates and be swarmed the whole time, and the decay is around 8ped :)

    fyi

    GL and happy hoffing.

The belodoth/tiarak/riptor spawns west of dauntless cover several of the planet's rare Niksarium spawns. It's probably not a big problem for most miners, since they're all young's. It's a popular place to hunt, since it's (I think) the only tax-free spawn of tiarak.

ok i was aware of that mixed spawn west of dauntless but i thought someone said something about a desert area with them and some decent mining, I dont know where any riptors in the desert are. That would be most helpful.

Nik next to dauntless, I have yet to find even a little there maybe im mining too deep, using terramaster3. any help is much appreciated.

Here are several spots for Niks:
    19090,17146
    19661,17244
    19311,18015
    19481,18121

The TM 3 is probably ok. Note that Niks is rare and the spawns are small; you need to bomb many of the spawns or use a big amp to get a decent amount. You won't necessarily find any in a one-time pass through.
