hmm I imagined them to be bigger and more technological from what I read from the story so far... but they are looking good for what they are. :) Can't wait for some video footage of ingame activities.

It's looking good, but it would be better, with river/waterfall in the background...

I don't know i kinda hoped the ruins would look a bit more alien. Looks too much like ruins we could find irl.

Then again i never cared too much about fancy graphics.

ah but these are the really old ones, these were already ruins when the Arkadians were still on the planet. The Arkadian city ruins will be better ;)

While I have to agree that I would have expected something like out of Tomb Raiders in style or architecture, I also agree that we should wait to see what the true experience is. As we know, pictures can give us only so much, and ... a little voice in the back of my head keeps reminding me that part of the excitement of this new planet will be our actual participation in rebuilding the ruins.

I can't wait to see how it's going to work. To be a part of the ongoing development and storyline as players really has my attention, and I have to think that what we have seen with regard to one of the ruins may very well be something left a long time ago during a period of time where this might have been the style of architecture. Remember, that what we're seeing now is current day Arkadia and was built by Commodore Toan's crew, and perhaps why we might have thought that the ruins should have looked differently.

At any rate, I'm looking forward to not only personally exploring what this planet has to offer, but also being a part of it's continued evolution. I really like the idea that we'll be able to give input, and who knows ... maybe our input will result in some spectacular things. With everything we've experienced so far with Dave and his A-Team, I think we have possibilities here. :)

As always it's great to get everyones feedback. I don't mind if the feedback is all positive or not - I never expect that everything we do will be loved by all. But it does help that you guys feel comfortable to share your true feelings which can only help us to get better.

I understand the thinking of ruins a bit more Tomb Raider style, however what you are looking at is the ancient surface ruins that have been found. I'm sure when instancing comes back into EU that you'll find the kind of ruins you are talking about.

This is probably a good time to share some of my thoughts on what we are trying to achieve with Planet Arkadia.

In any development, we are faced with many choices as to where resources get focused. We didn't want to take years to build Arkadia but rather establish a planet, launched with a fully functioning economy (i.e. lots of new items and blueprints) and then share the journey of continual development with our players.

The back story is a beginning, it establishes the groundwork for a period of discovery where the players can start to better understand the Arkadians.

I hope that the launch of Arkadia gives hope for the future. With new systems coming we will keep working to implement new things that create diversity in both game play and the economy.

I'm looking forward to launch as much as you guys are. You can be sure I'll continue to stay involved here on the forum and I'll be in the game as regularly as I can.

Ancient Surface Ruins, makes me think that there will be alot of underground exploring :)

Thank you David for the input. As always you and your team are on top of the forum. I so appreciate your forum contributions , they always add insight and clarification and maybe a little snippet of what we can expect.

Thank you for the info Dave sounds good. I'd like to see exploration of wrecked ships..big ones, with rooms that are black or dimly lit. Then things to find in them ,not like the old instances on Calypso, or even their beacon runs. Something like real discovery..maybe with a random loot that can be found instead of the same thing each time. Make it open all the time but only on rare occasions will loot be found, like a real excavation.

Rooms with holes in the walls for light, sand in piles along the walls, and maybe dead bodys with loot for the taking from failed explorations from before. Then the actual treasure hunting around little buildings like in the screens, not too much going to be found there, but small everyday objects from someones home most lickly, in bigger places, old factorys, shipyards, manufacturing sites, there will be more, and bigger loot and treasures, thats what I hope to see, basically...nothing like Calypso now.

Thank you once again for taking the time to share your thoughts Dave, I know this community truly appreciates it. Being updated by the CEO and developer of a planet is so crucial in making a solid connection with the player base, because it gives us a better understanding of what you're currently striving for, as well as what your intentions are for the future. We love being kept informed, and it also minimizes the type of posting that lends itself to speculation, misinterpretation, and general frustration.

Standing with boarding pass in hand, I get more excited with each passing day that brings us closer to launch! :)

LOL, seems I was right :)
And as always a great reaction there Dave, I love the way you interact with us !
I can't wait much longer for the launch, I even did a little hunt (with newbie gear) on Calypso this week, I wanna play on Arkadia not so much on Calypso !
