Correct, it's coming as soon as we can get it in. We want it to be built into missions etc rather than written text.
I would prefer to see both as you can't expect every participant to do every mission. As a miner I rarely do any hunting mission which i where i would assume a lot of story missions would end up, and vice versa given hunters and mining story missions ofcourse.
Yeah, there used to be at least a short storyline update related to each major release (giving Arkadia background to the changes). And that's something I kind of miss.
