Video was a great way to share that, thanks - we can adjust the settings so the lights are first seen from further away. It's a balance to achieve best performance (ie need to be close before they show) and more realistic (you see the light from a long way off). Clearly they are currently too extreme in the short distance, so we can extend it out a bit. Changes will be reflected with the next update.

Pretty sure this has got Worse recently? The lights in my shop used to work properly, but now I practically have to rest my head on them to see any light.

As you walk around Celeste and the lights pop on and off as you move a few feet, its a real immersion killer.

Please, please please fix soon. As for lighting draw distance - isnt that down to the user graphics settings? (or shouldnt it be?) Please make it a long draw distance!:dark:

not just limited to Arkadia... We have this sort of issue on Calypso too some. Really hard to light places the right way. In one of my apartments, I've gone to just using tomtebloss for the whole lighting situation since lamps are really finicky. Some work, some don't and distances to get them looking right is hard. I do agree, I think you are right, it's a falloff issue... With lights/items that have big area effects like the christmas stars its really noticible since they put a lot of shadows on walls and stuff... walk half a room away and all of that dissappears since that lighting is not impacting the other area. Before changes happened to make it impossible to put items in hallways on Calypso apartments, there was a gigantic falloff difference between inside of apartment and outside as at the doorway you saw instant change from light to dark.

    Hello,

I came across the streets of celeste north and the lights turn also on and off at the colored lightchain (birthday decorations)

Between the Terminals and shops area it flickers when I turn.

This appears as well on the carabok hunting ground. In the middle of the ground seems a bright spot at one place where the lights turn on and off.

this is celeste north terminals / shops corner to the northern teleporter.

Hi Smoerble, unfortunately, the lamp fix didn't make it for this patch but it will be reflected in the next update.

ahh kewl.. just saw this tread. Was discussing this in chat with friends. The lights in my apratment do this as well. Not so much the over head ceiling lamps but the small ones in the entryway between the televator and the door to the apartment. Unless I am looking directly at them they do not light the area just glow white within the area of the physical light itself.

Not a major issue but nice to see you have seen this and are making an effort to resolve it.

Could that problem be planet related?
I did some tests in both my apartments on Arkadia and Calypso, using exactly same lamp (Niko Ceiling Lamp). It's near not working on Arkadia (all issues described in above posts) and works perfectly on Calypso.
