What an intense chapter indeed, but the ending was exciting to learn that Fleet Arkadia has arrived in the outer area of the planet. This is good news, because it gives the feel that launch may not be that far away, even though there's an estimated time of arrival of "by June 30" - which is the end of the first half of 2011.

The MS9 Media HQs branch of the EP Media Center will be set up immediately, and news reports and stories will be posted at this forum as frequently as possible.

I am also busy preparing MSR for launch the day Arkadia goes live, and will be interrupting music throughout the day broadcasting news about activities and people I run into, as well as narrative about the locations I visit. Then I will determine set times to broadcast updates, but certainly break in with urgent news about events and activities important to the community.

I love the storytelling so far ... and stepping onto the planet for the first time is going to be so different than a planet just launched without any substantial or ongoing background of characters or environment. The way this whole planet has been presented to us so far (IMO) gives us such a connectedness and a desire to become a part of it, and that's what I love the most.

I can't wait to explore this planet.

 

I was a little behind on the story, but in the last few days finished the last 10 or so chapters. So the Fleet Arkadia has arrived, this suggests a lot, but really doesn't tell us anything. I for one am wondering why all that scrap is floating around the planet and how it got there, will this mean there is planetary defence on Arkadia we do not know about yet? And if the Ortans are getting stronger, what else do they have up their sleeves? Will they have good weapons to shoot down the drop ships in the future, preventing US to land on the planet. Or will they be flying them selves?

Man, this story is getting better and better, can't wait for the movie

 

Armored and rocket launcher armed mobs sounds interesting. Not many armors have sharpnel protection and these tend to be expensive pvp armors too. Or looking it at from the other side, Arkadian armor could be very interesting.

Fleet in the outer system ... I'm almost willing to say "launch end of may" instead of "launch end of june" then.

 

Fleet has arrived in the "outer system". In case of the solar system, the outer system starts with Jupiter and extends out to beyond Pluto. So it could take time, as they aren't using interstellar speeds inside the system (or they would have passed through it before we competed reading the chapter).

 

clean yer guns boys, and put a proper polish on that armor. might be the last time you do.......

 

I agree . It could be several weeks before the fleet reaches the planet. By the time everyone gets thier luggage from the over head storage and puts thier stewardess in an upright position. It could be awhile before they commecing landing. Sooner the better
