IMO Arkadia's night cycle is both too dark and way too long. In order to record the ATH screenie I'm planning on getting I have to play in Windowed mode otherwise Entropia Tracker doesn't get the screenie. In windowed mode you can't adjust the gamma. I hereby humbly request some night vision goggles or a change be made to the night cycle. Menace
If u use right gamma and brightness , night should look not so dark to u. I personaly like night cycle and dont see any problems whit it
There were a bunch of complaints early on about dark being too dark but devs have already made adjustments in response so you may need to address this through your own client settings. Regards, KikkiJikki
A lot of people have even complained that the new night cycle is too light. Other players were saying that unless the settings were on high it was even darker than before. For the record, I'm one that thinks it's a tad bit too bright.
Couldn't vote on poll, since it incorrect IMHO Right now darkness of Arkadian night depend on your settings (not sure if it's bug or feature): it's fine on VH and it's way too dark on Medium (and it's impossible to adjust gamma, when you play in window).
yea i don't have the same problem. i used to but not since they updated, what settings you using? and can you adjust the game through your video card driver? i bet you can do some tweaking with that. what video card?
Just make sure that you have shading quality set to "High" in advanced graphics option, that will make the night brighter. You might have all other settings set to "Low", if you don't want to overload GPU.
Endy, on my old graphics card it was impossible to set shading higher than low (no matter what my other settings were) without reducing to <10 FPS.
What is the day/night cycle? Schedules I've heard seem to be as abundant and contradictory as loot theories. Has anyone spent the time to record the precise day/night cycles on Ark?
Night is too long, and yes, it might be too bright for those on high/Very high settings, but both me and my bf run the game on medium settings (I actually on low these days) and to us its pitch black.. We run in windowed both of us, so cant change gamma.. I can barely see a thing when its dark..
thanks for all the advice. I too run my gfx on medium to ensure there's no temp issues but I can run them on high. I'll try increasing my shading an if that don't work I'll bump up my gfx settings. That being said... EU is a resource HOG and I think that if gfx MUST Be set to high/veryhigh in order to be able to see at night then that is something the A-Team MUST address. MOST players in EU play Safe-Mode-Medium. Alot of the "Ubers" play on lower settings just to eliminate useless vegetation that's gets in their line of sight. Menace
maybe adjust your display settings. on my asus display I got a button for preset profiles like landscape, movies , nighttime and such. if it´s too dark i can switch easiely but as was previously said nights were already adjusted by the a-team and another twiddling may only mess it up worse.
try making a real poll next time, to me it's too bright and too short Shading on high, most other "useless" settings medium or low, remove shadows entirely to reduce the load on your gfx as thats at least on my setup is what cause most problems Also check what Hideo said, and also check the lighting in the room where you play
What they should do (at the very least) is increase the light levels for < High settings. I've seen screenshots of Low/Medium (I play on Very High) and I can agree they're too dark. Much like what happened with the new Quarry.. the paved area got brighter the lower your settings were to the point that it was almost blinding on Low.
