As title says, I would like to see a change on the surface around Quarry TP so that is impossible to spawn vehicles nearby. Last days you can't see ppl there because it is crowded with vehicles. Coming out of TP in the middle of Quad or Sleipnir is not what it should be. Place something there to make it impossible for vehicles, or we will have same crap as in twin. Don't count on the clear mind of ppl in that case, some will never learn it...... Cu -Ron
I agree. I've tried to spread the word and keep people from parking quads in the square, but the rude ones simply ignore it. It would be simplest to just make the square a no-vehicle zone. Is that possible?
Well if they place terminals farther apart around the entire place large spawning vehicles would be impossible to do there. The line of terminals they currently have is horrible to dang crowded I never use terminals there I go other places. put like 2 terminals back to back and scatter then around the square, be like a bunch of Kiosks in a mall. Put in a landing pad like Celeste Harbor to spawn quads and sleip's on.
IMHO there is more simple and better solution for that, than changing terrain (since it's fine now). EU platform allow you to create areas, where Vehicles disabled. And adding 1-2 landing pads will allow peoples to fly from/to there.
Lets not screw too much with terminal placement when trying to solve this issue. Its very handy to be able to access craft, auction and storage terminal simultaneously. Very much in favour of making the trading/tp area vehicle free if possible.
I really like the existing landing pads, I just wish they were closer in so people could use them easier. Then make areas off limits to vehicles. In the OP is mentioned terrain change. That could prevent spawning, but not landing, so the area needs to be off limits. The off limits area for vehicles needn't be large, in fact it should be pretty small. Just enough area to keep the pedestrian areas clear.
Ah yes I now see spacing the terminals out all over would not fix the issue landing either and neither would making area a non vehicle spawning zone. Kikki I do agree it is nice to be able to but man that place is such a cluster mess when 20+ people are around those terminals. You can never get in to a storage term or craft terminal or auction terminal and back out again with out having to jump and jitter your way in and out. I find the quarry terminals a misserable place and do my terminal actions elsewhere. Just my opinion here.
I would keep it the way it is, myself.. just that inner ground-level area be a no-vehicle area. When I come in from Space, for example, I usually land up on the top area. I think that's a perfect place for take-off and landing at the quarry. The dirt half on the opposite side of the TP could still be a vehicle zone like it is now.. Just the paved over area.
make the whole area vehicle free, so people can actually use it without all the lag vehicles cause... and about terminals being hard to reach, uncheck "move to target" and it's no problem since the A-team made it so you can activate them high up too (a lot quicker access to everything this way too, hate the little dance I have to do to use a TP when I have that option on for some strange reason...)
I've gotta throw my 2 pecs in with Rick. I like how it is, but maybe clear the paved area. When I come in from space I land on the dirt, fix my vehicle if needed, and put it in my pocket. When leaving, I use the upper deck. Personally I like to see other vehicles around, but I understand it causes lag with some laptop or graphics setups, so I always pocket mine.
If everyone picked up their vehicles shortly after they landed there wouldn't be an issue. But they don't. And we can't enforce. So barring a small area to vehicles seems the way to go.
The "change terrain" part in my OP was only to point out that "something" should be done. I like the terrain like it is also. If possible to switch off vehicles, that solution will be best. Game mechanics make it possible to switch off vehicles in Event zones and LAs. Think that will be the best way to handle this and maybe that can be done faster than any other solution.
you dont really need to change the terrain there is a setting you can set so that you can't drive or spawn a vehicle i know RT had areas like that was kinda fun cause you'd keep going but your vehicle would hit an invisible wall totally want this to happen hate vehicles at quarry.
Hi, supporting this. The paved area around the TP (where there's the terminal, shops etc.) should be no-vehicle zone. Quarry is the new market place, and it's a pain to find your customer when there's Quads parked all over the place ... Or, make it so that we can blow them up with rocket launchers ;-) Have fun!
Vehicle free zone, yes please, landing pads for arrival and take off maybe. Had to leave the Quarry last night due to the sea of vehicles (though was lovely to see Ark so full and busy). The Quarry is basically our 'sweat camp', but now it is also the market because of the shop stalls, and visitors and pilots all together make it a crowded enough spot as it is. Add in all the vehicles and it makes it difficult to find and help the newbies so for me the sweat camp part is pretty much over for now (with all chat filled even watching for and answering newcomer questions is hard). I think the Harbor should have a vehicle free zone in that center square area as well, ok around the sides maybe. Personally wish the shop stalls had gone to the Harbour, our main city, rather than the newcomer area, but oh well.
