Is going through space the only way to get to Arkadia and other questions

It is possible to log into the planet or a space ride the only way? Also do all your skills from Calypso come with you or do you start all over again? I spoke with one guy in a quad wing and he said it takes him about an hour to get there.
As you can see I a bit new.

Welcome to Arkadia Forum, and yeah flying is your only way here, and all your skills and peds come with you here

 

You can choose a planet where your avatar redirects to when you download Entropia game on your PC.

Basically, if you click the download link on this forum, your avatar will be redirected to Arkadia after you have played through Genesis level.
If you click download link on the main entropia universe web site, it'll be redirected to Calypso.

After you got spawned on a planet, the only way to get to another is through Space, which is not free and might take an hour or two of travel time.

All your skills stay with you and are valid on any planet throughout the universe.

 

Sometimes it's free. There have been a myriad of threads where pilots are offering free rides to Arkadia. Plus, a lot of pilots will offer a free seat somewhere if they're going anyway.

 

Also for a fast safe trip pay for passage on a mothership.

 

Endy could you elaborate a little further. I don't see a download link but I am probably looking in the wrong place. I am not sure what you mean by playing the genesis level. Would that be a begininer level played on Arkadia? If I use the D/L link would I get a new logon screen to go to Arkadia and then be able to go to the regular EU login to get back to Calyapso? As you can see I have not been playing for a while, even though I am a mid lvl player and played for a couple of years, and all of this is new to me but I sure want to visit Arkadia.

When your avatar is older than you are born on calypso and you can go only with a spaceship to another planet
what endy says is only for new avatars which have to choose the planet where they want to arrive the game


edit: in twin usually you can find alot pilots who take passengers

 

Just beware... not all pilots are honest, and will notify another pilot that you are coming. They intentionaly get shot down and all your stackables are lootable. Most pilots are honest, but other pirates will still try to shoot them down. If you have a lot of stackable items, ride on a mother ship.

 

Thanks all, I think I see now. The pilots at twin are just Quad pilots right. So it will still take 45 minutes to get there I would think. Also stackables are minerals and hydes and such, things that you get for mining and hunting not like enhancers or other attachments correct. Also can you TP back to Calypso from Arkadia or the Space station or must you return to Calypso SS to get back. Is there personal storage on Arkadia that will show up in your storage back on Calypso or must you sell everything before you leave or look for a mother ship?

Hi,

Stackables are anything that "stacks" in your inventory. ie multiples of an item show up as one item with a numeral next to it. However, the only stackables that are lootable are those that show up in the Materials or Mined Resources panel (+ possibly mind essence). So not ammo, tools, weapons, bps etc.

You can not TP between planets in any direction. Not sure what the deal is with FOMA or CND which is part of the Calypso planetary system.

Personal storage is local to a planet. If you want access to your stuff on another planet you need to take it with you.

 

First you need to download the game, then you start playing at a beginners' level called Genesis, it's not located on any specific planet. After you finish it, you will be teleported from there onto a planet. The choice of planet depends on where you have downloaded the game from.

That's only valid for whose who create a new account, if you have been playing before, the only way for you to change the planet is to go thru Space from your current planet.

Thanks for the reply and that makes sense about what is lootable. I was hoping to a quick way to the planet. How about the mother ship, I heard that is the fastest and it is safe for you loot. It that true ?

 

it is the quickest if they use warp drive. and it is difficult to shoot down. so it is safest but not 100% safe

 

So if one wants to protect his/her loot then sell it while on Arkadia, either TT or auction would be the best idea.

This is the way it used to be, but MA has corrected the bug (so they say). You can now TP to any planet from Genesis, regardless of where you downloaded the game.

 

Not a huge fan of TTing loot that has MU....

If you use MS your risk is low

 

Neil I went to Genesis headquaters but the only thing I saw in the TP was Calypso and space. Was I at the right place or is it somewhere else? Also if I TP to Arkadia will I be able to TP back to Calypso? I would think there would be a 7 ped charge each way if that is true. I am still a bit confussed as you can see as other say you can only TP to a planet from its space station.

The Genesis I'm talking about is not on Calypso, it's the very, very first place you go when you first download Entropia. There's nothing to do there except learn how to control your avatar. Once you're on Calypso, you can't get back to it. MA may have changed the destinations available at Genesis again, I don't know. The only important thing about Genesis is that it determines which planet partner will receive your repair taxes. The first planet you go to will receive your repair taxes.

Since you're already on Calypso, I'm going to run down the basic types of teleports you can use inside Entropia.

• City to city (ie Port Atlantis to Twin Peaks) -- Free
• Area to Area (ie Next Island to Ancient Greece) -- some are free, some have a cost
• Crystal Palace or FOMA to Calypso, one way only -- 25 ped (FOMA), 15 ped (Crystal Palace)
• Space station (directly over planet) to planet (directly below station), only goes down, not up -- Costs 7 ped
• Space station to mothership, both ways (need to be on ship's guest list) -- Free
• Teleport mindforce chip -- costs mind essence

Basically, you need to fly on a ship to get to any other planet than the one you start on. Make sure you've downloaded your destinations (space and your destination planet) before leaving. Only items in the "materials" and "mined resources" sections of your inventory are lootable in space. Everything else (including mind essence) is safe to carry. Since you're a new player, you probably don't have much materials accumulated so far, and risking a few peds of random bits of loot is not a big deal if you fly with a reputable quad pilot. If you have tons of loot to bring, definitely take a mothership. I recommend the Normandie, it's reliable and essentially 100% safe, at this point in time. Cost for that flight will be 25 peds total.
