I visited Arkadia on first launch, spent about 1 month there before returning to calypso due to the problems with selling loot.

How is life on Arkadia today?

Im thinking of making a return, and wish to seek answers from those who live 100% on arkadia.

    cheers

Been on Ark since May 27th, and next week this time I can officially register as a mentor. Planet has gone thru many changes since launch and has become quite active. Many hardcore crafters are here clicking away like there is no tomorrow. Hunters are HoF and puffing all the time with the new mob Scoria (young = 3500 hp, Stalker = 8500 hp?).

Only advise I can give you without being bias, and being an Adviser, I am bias ... is come back and try it for yourself.

I completely relocated recently to Arkadia and can only suggest you move back here :) - its a lot nicer than calypso and the market has found a stable size already

Only advise I can give, is come on over and make up your own mind. I personally enjoy the planet immensely. The market aint perfect, but then again what is? It has improved a heck of a lot though. GL either way, and have fun. :)

yea it feels like the old days of Project Entropia were everyone is trying to work together. Everyone kind of hangs out at the Quarry and it's a nice place to do so.

Loot seems to be very different. Last night in team out of the last 6 globals all but 1 had an item in it. So it's nice to see items in loot again.

It's brilliant. There is a great sense of community here. Everyone seems to be happy and the devs truly care about the players and take our thoughts and suggestions into consideration. The loot here seems to be fantastic (for me at least), there are great events with real world rewards, etc etc. I could go on forever lol.

We're still growing, but I always see numerous people around various TPs on the planet. There is life! It may be a bit tough to find buyers for certain things, but I've always managed to sell my resources.

I love it here, the market is still quite slow but I enjoy this planet much more than caly. Ive managed to do 3 discoveries here, 2 BP's and one good UL shortblade (manta k-5). Ive been here for three months and had more success here than on caly where I spent 4 years (of hell).
People here are nicer and more helpful. The poeple that run arkadia is at least 426565656 times better than the other planets hehe.
As someone else said, try it out yourself.

how is the reality when it comes to selling hunting loot? ive understood that its alot easier to sell mined resources than regular hunting loots. im starting to make up my mind and making some preparations on caly.

In the past the problem has been hunting for MU. I never had any problems selling the oils and such that I would loot and for higher MU than I would get on Caly. Still, when the best MU u get is approaching 110, u know you are going to struggle to break even.

Lately more armour and weapons have been dropping and in theory they have good MU. But reality is they can be quite difficult to sell. I have had a number of very nice armour parts slide right through auction (with SB set at what seems like a bargain to me) and I now have them listed on Caly since I am over here. I'm thinking people dont yet realise how good the higher lvl Arkadian armour is.

So whats better, easy sales with low to moderate MU or theoretically good MU items that are hard to actually convert to cash?

    Regards,
    KikkiJikki

The market is slow but flying back to caly isn't difficult.

The normandie flies caly to ark and back again on Monday and wednesday evenings, and also does a round trip caly->RT->NI->ark->caly on Friday. It's a well upgraded ship with good crew and high warp drives, so taking a bit of loot isn't too risky (it's never been looted in months of daily flying). It's only 20ped a flight or you can pay 100ped and fly as often as u like for 1 month.

I often fly back to caly in the normandie then fly my quad back to ark in the morning when there's rarely a pirate at caly station, or if I need to carry a bit of loot i'll spend a day or 2 on caly then fly on the mothership to ark.

    Hi,

all I can say is that I've never regretted coming to Arkadia, and that it is developing in a great way. We have a small but constant growth in population, and a very nice community. It's still a bit hard to sell your loot, but this is improving every single day.

Game play on Arkadia is absolutely awesome meanwhile, the landscape and the towns are made with a lot of knowledge, aesthetics and diligence, much more enjoyable then Calypso, IMHO. Loot has improved a lot recently, and mining is awesome as ever.

I can recommend it. And should I visit Caly anytime soon, I'll offer free passenger seats for the flight back. Without any warranty to arrive alive, for sure ;-)

    Have fun!

    Hi Ermik,

i think with a bit of bankroll, adjusting to what kind of sales work best on Ark (stack sizes etc.) plus maybe a weekly warp flight to Caly for stuff that doesn't sell well at Ark one could make it now.

For me personally the way i play on Caly doesn't work here but i will keep trying to adjust.

    Hello Ermik,
Welcome back to Arkadia, I did the same thing you did :p Came back and it is a blast here, check out some of the events going on, three I know of are held by members of Arkadian's Unleashed and there are others that are just as great also, check them out for yourself.

If you see me around just hit me up for a team hunt, I may be interested, especially if you want to teach a few Oratan who's boss on this planet.

Check out Celeste Quarry. There are usually people there crafting and what not and a few shops as well. GL
