When I was hunting cosmic horrors I think it was a bit under 1 ped per shot with a kismet (L) Laser

Kismet ammo burn = 4010 per shot.

As Jim said, it's .4 ped per shot from a quad. Oboy, you're probably thinking of the mothership guns, which are about 1 ped per shot.

That's very bad manners mister, you should always carry a piece of dung to pay to the hard working pirates for their efforts :D

Why give a pirate even 0.00001PED?
Also it only stinks up your inventory and I can see the jokes they already make out of looting a peace of dung from another player.

    That's chicken feed.

Part of our dinnertime discussion tonight (involving a German who was in agreement with the notion) was whether Deutsche Bahn, the train network company in Germany, should give you a 10 Euro discount on inter-city journeys in exchange for not hating them. We imagined that they could have a button when you're booking in where you can choose whether or not to pay the extra hate fee.

So I can see in certain contexts how 0.00001PED would be worth it just to hurl an indirect insult to a known villain.

When you sit in the gunner seat, hover the mouse over the shots left and it'll tell you the ammo burn for any gun you're using.

Slightly off topic, but there's also an option (I think the HUD section) to show the amount of ammo left instead of the number of shots left. That's (I hope) why you see screenshots with numbers up in the millions.

The option only says "Show shots left" -- I've just left it default, so I don't actually know what it does if left unchecked...

It shows total amount of ammo left for that weapon.
