So I spend some time swunting the Carabok (currently what I am doing now as I wait for my weapons to sell on auction) , and it would be awsome if there was a mission for these little guys. It would def help the noobs out with a small goal, maybe you could get a Herman asi-10 for every 3,000 carabok slain? Something like that would be awsome
I second that!! Would be nice to have a bunch of missions on them. And even something bigger than Puny. Now it takes forever to gather resources for a decent crafting round with the Carabok texture.
Our intention is to create quite a number of missions for Carabok. Telling a new player to just kill 3000 of them is all a bit too grindy, better to do lots of smaller missions related to the storyline. And regarding making a bigger than puny Carabok, that won't happen - Carabok are a puny only mob - a young Carabok is a Halix.
I like this. As painfuly slow as it is for me to collect skins from this puny mobs I think it is a great idea that the newcomers have a mob to hunt that will give them some MU loot and that most high level players will get bored with.
WAVE EVENT!!!! Caraboks take revenge on Quarry.... Every 4 hours massive swarms of Carabok run into the quarry and the Oratan disabled the turret guns. Turret guns stay broken until the parts are retrieved from the Oratan and placed back into the turrets... I can see it now. Carabok boss at end of each 4 hour wave event is L110 Carabok.
whoa, so how do you really feel JK I thought some of the wave stuff was fun myself like the Argonaught beating their way into twin peaks. Those were awesome and fun.
Thats not a "wave event" thats a regular event, and even tho I personally dont like those kinds of events it would fit in with the Arkadian storyline which is why I just quoted the part of the "Wave events" And in any case dont move "Loot Steel" over here unless it's only peds or same stackables to each "hunter" and clarified before the event starts I saw no problems when the exa invasions happened in PA pre vu10 of people calling others Kill Stealers and such, so this "Loot Steal" MA thought up is not necessary bit of accusations with Argo invasions but not too bad. "Wave Event" -thats the locations for where you get them in waves and they have a "boss" mob like most other games out there, and have "loot steal" rules turned on all the time
Thanks for correcting me on Wave Event and Event. I was just kind of joking about this anyways, I really doubt they would do an event like this in a new player area, it would make new players life hell and make them not want to goto the quarry. But Event like this at a Firebase would be awesome.
Hmm, I might get bitten but I personally enjoy wave events and hope to see them on some level on Ark in future. Even somewhere in the quarry area or around Celeste proper, wave events with the smaller mobs could be a lot of fun I'd think, encourage some teamwork and team thinking (even though no team is required) and give new players a taste of what killing a 'boss' is like (not really much different than the good old 'kill spiders with opalos' team hunts). Like other systems, such as pvp, if you don't enjoy it just don't participate.
Please, lets not make Ark into another Caly. The A-team has been tring very hard to make sure Ark isn't a mare copycat by refusing to use their generic mobs. I and believe the same should apply to missions/events. We also do not need tons of "iron man" chains where you have to grind thousand of mobs. For every one item we copy from Caly, it is one less reason for people to come here and view Arkadia being an unique planet that offers something different and interesting, and one more reason for people to ask "why should I be on this new planet, when I can be on Caly that has all those in place already?" jc
Well I would assume no matter what there will be some form of grinding involved, be it with mobs, mining or crafting, maybe not 10's of k at a time but in smaller amounts with a story line but in the end still adds up to 10's of k in all for same value of total prizes in the end. Also pretty sure there will be a lot of search the area missions pertaining to story line. In reality there are only so many things a PP can do for missions based on a system with only 3 main categories of discipline. I don't know if there is a way to get ride of grinding from the missions totally, all they can do is tone it down into more missions with smaller goals but in the end you really just ended up grinding anyways. But we will see what the A-Team comes up with they seem to be very crafty and ingenuitive type of people. As for wave events, if you have not been to one on Caly I suggest go check it out, they are actually real fun. Also small events that involve event attacks on facilities add a lot to game play. As stated before it was awesome when the Argo's attacked Twin Peaks, it was a chaotic free for all for a short while and everyone had great laughs afterwards. I actually hung around Twin just to be a part of the next attack.
