I don't know why people even encourage your sweating. It's boring and it will make you quit. What you need to do is buy a TT-armor and a TT-gun (choose rifle or pistol --> go with laser) and start hunting Halix which is a level 2-4 mob. Yes. This game requires you to deposit. It will cost you a lot of money if you ain't careful. Yes. Sweating is a fuck-boring habit which made me turn the game off for seven days when I started 'till I could deposit.
Depends on your tastes... I've talked to quite a few new players who find it fun. However, if you're one to be out hunting all the time, then yeah you're going to spend a lot of money. But I'd like to point out that sweating is a good way to get skills WITHOUT depositing. And it doesn't take too long to get enough sweat to trade for a weapon.
As a new player also I dont really mind sweating. Having played alot of MMO's there can be a lot of things that are worse then sweating (old school uo weapon skilling). It really comes down to what you like to do and what you find boring
I encourage new players AND mid levels as well to sweat at least an hour a day. The sweat is actually the secondary benefit. The main reason is to build defensive and combat related skills so the cost to play gets offset a little bit from doing so. As a young miner after deciding hunting was not my calling, l would drag an atax young or snablesnot around for extra defense skills. Sadly this tactic has been countered with much higher hit rates and increased chace to crit over time making it very costly to do.
yea my one disciples that did 100% of what i said and made 10000 PED did exactly this. I didn't tell him to sweat to get a certain amount of sweat but a certain amount of skills I think i said sweat till you get at least 120 Evade. And he did. then he had a bunch of sweat and sold it. Went hunting and mining like i told him and did amazing. Takes work but you can give yourself a big advantage in skills by sweat. Hell i would still sweat if i had more time.
