Hi guys Mentoring is back and we are all happy we can officially mentor new players and help guide others. The rewards are also cool, Unlimited Pixie ME, Unlimited Hunter ME and Unlimited Gremlin ME, other items of note and many more to come. However, is it not strange that if I mentor a new Arkadian spawned player, he or she will graduate with a set of Unlimited Calypsian armour??? Would we not expect that players and mentors who undertake the mentoring program on Arkadia have Unlimited Arkadian armour Mentor Edition as their reward, and other Unlimited Arkadian items of note. I will post a poll for the A-Team to see what we think about Arkadian disciples and mentors getting UL Calypsian rewards, when they/we should be promoting Arkadian Unlimited armour and items! Yeah, it does look odd, and wondered about that back when Kim was posting on EF about designing the mod pixie, but suspect the A team didn't have much warning of this to plan ahead for specific Arkadian rewards? Over time I agree, all planets should have planet specific mentoring program rewards.
Well i guess it's platform armor and not calypso armor, since the mentoring system is mindark content. I would love to see some arkadian mentor gear though. But first i want more mobs, missions, resources, textures, clothes, arkadian underground, treasure hunting
Pixie is EU wide not Caly specific. Eg pixie continues to be looted on RT despite them having Grunt armour which is an RT specific clone of pixie
Are we sure it's shared? I certainly haven't looted any armor parts on Arkadia that weren't Arkadia armor.
Maybe because the A-team is more creative and will bringing out more of their own instead of using the cloning device... now it would be nice to have it already but I'm sure we will soon
Bjorn... You left out the option for "doesn't matter that much to me" Seeing as David doesn't really like UL anything, I seriously doubt we'll get any UL rewards from them. It's possible, but I see it as unlikely. Yes, Pixie does seem to be a platform armor more than a Calypso armor. It loots on RT and looted on NI for a while, too. It would be nice to have Arkadian items as rewards for mentoring, but I'm fine either way. The Adjusted Pixie has excellent stats.
As I said pixie is looted on RT. But just because EU mobs and armour are available doesnt mean the Ark Dev team will include them here.
They probably will switch to planet specific cool stuff after i've gotten a reward from my disciple. Guessing by that they are not responding i would say so too because telling people that there will be Ark specific stuff would be giving an unfair advantage cause ppl would wait before graduating. where saying no it's up to MA wouldn't hurt.
I actually asked Cyrus about having some platform blueprint books an the Arkadia technician... He said it's all or none, according to MindArk -- except for the limited books, possibly. Seeing as that would be a lot of books that could get really confusing for some new players, personally I think we should simply import those on an as-needed basis. Just as an example.
if its all or none, then they could at least remove the caly bps from loot and the garbage that drops in loot that nobody can use because we cant get the bp's or all of the materials to make it useful. I brought launchers with me from caly but what good are explosives for new people with zero need for them because there are no launchers looted here
Why are the poll questions so leading? I couldn't find an answer I wanted, and choices 2 and 4 seem to be the same thing. Maybe it would be more helpful to make the poll questions something like this: Which kind of armor would you prefer to have as rewards for Arkadian mentors and disciples? 1) Arkadian UL armor 2) Arkadian L armor 3) Calypsian UL armor 4) None of the above However, there is a big, gaping problem with this whole issue. How would MA decide which planet the mentor and disciple are on? At this time, there's no way to choose one's "home planet". An off-topic note about Caly BP books: I usually have a complete, extra set of Caly BP books on me. So if you need BP books, find me in game or PM me here to arrange a meeting.
I do have one question ... Judging how much the UL weapons are worth from the recent Arkadia hunting event, what makes mentoring worth so much PED that an UL armor should be given as a reward? jc
The more I think about this the more I believe it should be one of: - a platform wide common reward (eg adjusted pixie) because mentoring is an EU program not an Ark or Caly or... program; or - graduation event presents you with a choice - offering equivalent TT value in each choice. And option 2 sounds a little fraught with pitfalls. Reality is that by design, UNL is much rarer on Ark than other planets. Let's stay with the status quo.
Hi, didn't find a suitable option in the poll. Tbh, Gremlin ME sounds nice to me - do we get a full armor or just an armor piece (as I assume)? Hmmmm, even one better piece for my Gremlin would be highly welcome I'd love to see the option to choose from some "same TT" options. For one a nice piece of Arkadian armor would be cool, others might prefer an upgrade to an already owned armor. For sure they should be UL, all - and this then would make the Arkadian armor the best choice again ... Additionally, getting a Hunter ME piece would turn me off - it would be an orphan in my armor collection. Even hunting years on Calypso I never made it to more then 2 or 3 pieces, and I TT'ed them when emigrating to Arkadia ... So an option "Dunno, sry, hf & gl" would have been nice Have a god time!
I think it would be great for every planet to be unique with its own items or planetery things. I voted option 2 thanks.
