GRATZ Mr. noob crafter - not easy to do that, at least not at our levels even if Maximus 3 hofs in 5 mins streak yesterday might seem otherwise :whistle:

How to approach the problem from a different angle. (Hunt Hunt Hunt)

It's interesting to note that while a lot of folks are going after the BP's in the Bonanza event by crafting items using minerals, here's something to consider.

The first BP was won, not by a gun crafter, or a tool crafter, or an amp crafter, or even a fab crafter.. it was won by a carpenter. Only a few items were needed that were mtalsic in nature thus few items are mined.. But the oiled woods, are mostlly crafted because they use natural woods and oils..

This is where some of the ground floor crafters can get in and get their carpenty skills up.. and in a hurry. And the materials (The wood, and oils) all drop from mobs. Not a single item was mined. It was all hunted.
and it involves Oratans, oros, Halix, Carabok, and yes Jori (Fish)

That's the thing.. While others are trying to literally go after metal based items, The more wooden ones give you back both metal res, and animal oil residue (The hit I got consided of over 277 PED worth of animal oil residue.

Hence that is why you take a look, other than weapons, oiled wood really does get the globals. Look at the first two globals and then some of the otehrs, and consider this. Which is easy to produce? Or rather is cheaper? Answer. Wooden items.

But when you do things right, it does happen. And it's been happening a lot with wood.

That's why for the beginners I say go for the oiled miluca and arkace. They're probably the easiest to craft. and the materials are all hunted..not mined..

Oh and my global also had one other thing.. I wasn't crafting on condition either.. I was crafting leaning more toward s quantity, with it a little offset towards condition. After all I was getting the skills and the oiled wood, not the high end condition that some other crafters have to set it at..

But that's just my two pec on this.

Ben, the only problem with that is the availability of muscle oil (still cheaper than ores though)

You would think not. And yet check my crafting globals in tracker, all in the last 5 weeks and generally on oiled boards or the next thing up the chain. I'm level 4 carpenter.

 

Like in the case of hunting, more people clickin a bp seem to lead to bigger loots from that bp ... that would explain why so many good globs on boards lately, but of course - more people clickin means less chance you'll be the one getting the good loot, so is still challenging. Your ped card (or cycled peds) seem to play also important part, thus a big time crafter will always have an edge over a medium or beginner ... and peds cycled spawn accross professions, so I guess your activity in the hunting event also played an important role in ur present crafting success ... but in the end is just unproven theories only sure thing seems to be that is not so easy to make it in this event on Ark - only 20 bps claimed so far, while if this would have taken place on Caly bet would have been long over

 

Most likely yes, by the looks of it he came for the cap-404 blueprint, so he crafted on condition.

 

Hes also on like all day long... (within 2.5 minutes of the last global he quickly started craftings lol sad..)

Feels like a waiting game. This competition should be for most active and diverse crafter. maybe size of hof = best bp.
I dunno but the waiting kinda sucks.
other than that im happy! lol.

if they did that all uber crafters with big pockets would come to ark and in one day all the blueprints worth having would be spoken for and not a soul would care about the rest of the event.

 

Yes this would have been long over on Caly, but it just goes to show that Caly is a little overpopulated. If we all worked harder on getting fresh blood here from caly things might change for the better.
Part of the problem is that it can be very hard for new players on Ark but with the advisers and the rest of us helping, Ark can be a top destination.

Hmm ....... Maybe Planet Arkadia needs to hire me to bring in fresh blood....

Main problem i see...the lag of materials.
I know 2 crafter who leave the planet because there was no chance to get the needed ress for decent craft runs.

Im not a crafter but noticed the same. Two days ago i had a run with 1900clicks ARK-10, no global btw. Got some L BPs and yesterday i try to gather materials to click 44 ASi-20 Jungle (maybe dessert) ... around 100 Wenrex Ingot in auktion to an insane price, no Week Magnets.
Thats only one example... i stopped searching.


Ark needs more miner - more materials available on auction

 

Good change Cyrus. Now players cant camp out till close to a certian BP before crafting.

 

Update on Blueprint Bonanza Event!

Hi guys, please note that there are some changes to the competition rules starting 27th September, 2011 (0800 MA time).

(1) Blueprints have been reshuffled into a new list and will be hidden until each qualifying global unravels it. You can check which BP you have won on the EntropiaTracker leaderboard.

(2) Value of qualifying global has been lowered from 175 peds to 100 peds.

As I made the changes to the scoreboard on ET while on a break @ work - I have had not time to test if the code is free of bugs. Please verify if you get a global of 100 PED or more, that it actually is on the scoreboard.

PS! would be nice still to see a complete list of BP-s to know what we could win (BP type and how much of this kind)
