I want test if EU works in my netbook in Low setting

Hi.

I buy a little ago a netbook for do some things and try test if i can play too a little EU. ASUS 1215b, Windows 7, 3 GB RAM, graphic AMD Radeon 6k and something.

EU crashes when i do login. I set low graphics with my big computer but when i return to Netbook crashes again.

Question is if i set low graphics in 1 computer this is valid for other computers too? If yes, i think my netbook is not valid for play EU?

I could be wrong, but I think some of the settings are saved in a config file on each PC that you play on. I use an ASUS laptop and a desktop to play and each has separate graphics settings as one has an ATI GPU and the other an NVidia. But it seems that the bound keys are identical on both. It may be possible to manually tweak the config file, but I would not know how and do not have time to look for it as it is time for work. Hope that helps a little.

why dont you go in under tools in the client loader and put on safemode on your laptop and check, and I think you would at least be able to get in with that laptop. And as Dawg said I think thats true too, as when I play on another computer when I'm not at home it has different settings then when i play at home

Notice the icon... That means all those settings are stored in the registry. If it's stored in a local file, it's in a DLL and can't really be modified outside of EU.

So I would go with Jenny's recommendation of setting "Safe Mode" under Tools in the client loader...

 

try to put on the safe mode option in the options menu in the client loader, that way you are sure it uses the lowest possible settings. With most small laptops the problem is the graphics that are the bottleneck. I have a small 10" laptop with a Nvidia Ion chipset and graphics and it can play EU on low settings and at the time I bought that it was the only small laptop that could do it, but I guess yours should work to when I look at the specs but I am not a 100% sure about the graphics though.

 

I start think the problem can be graphic card is AMD RADEON and not ATI RADEON? I know name this laptop with Nvidia Ion, I think about buy it but choose wait some time for buy this another one.

Now laptop is downloading update but look as is downloading all damm client program.

AMD/ATI is the same corporation. u got the newest drivers for your card? they often give a lil performance boost.

 

I hope you succeed, because i failed using the exact same laptop, win 7 64bit and 4 GB ram - screen stays blank after you click "launch" and after a while you crash back to windows, right?

I've tried safe and windowed mode from the client loader, compatibility modes both in CL and entropia.exe, different versions of drivers for APU, motherboard, soundcard, updated bios and nothing worked. There was a prospective player out on Entropia Forum with the same problem, seems he never managed to log in (can't find the link atm).

The most upsetting part for me was that i got this netbook specifically for playing EU on the go. It can run Crysis 1 and 2 as witnessed from several videos on youtube, so my guess is that it has to do with bad coding from MA.

PS. If you manage to make it work, please tell me how...

 

If you plan on playing on your PC and sometimes on laptop why didn't you made the update in the PC and then copy paste the files to the laptop ?
(For a fresh install do the ~1 Mb download of the installer and then execute without the internet cable connect, so that it can't download anything but still creates the folders, then copy paste the files [and do the repair just to be safe])

After doing the copying paste
Go to the Folder \Entropia Universe
There should be there the folders:
bin32
program_data
public_users_data

Go to folder \public_users_data

There you'll find the file:settings-ce.cfg

Drag that file to a open window of notepad in order to alter the settings by hand

I would in your case change the resolution instead of the 1024-768 above to 1366-768. That is what I found in the Asus site about your laptop, if that isn't what you are using now please change in Windows to be 1366-768

So in your case change the settings to:

It's sellect all text that is in the file, delete and paste what is in the quote
(As always before doing so, make a copy of the file to alter and save it in a known location)

I believe that some graphic options could be tweaked to decrease even further, but quality can't be your goal on safe mode ...

 

I have same problem with HP dm1 netbook. has similiar stats as the asus. I get same results as Manny, it just crashes back to windows. Hope to see a solution.

 

I send a suport case yesterday. I will write here if i have some answer.

First answer is for delete all is in "crashed" folder inside "entropia universe" folder. That is not works.
Second answer is for repair button in tool prelogin option. That is not working too.
I must wait until thursday before send another support case.

They not answer at the moment my netbook is not valid.

Hi.

After change several messages with Mindark, it looks as my netbook not have the requeriments. They say me some things i read in this thread, run in safe mode, with compatibility mode, and another, update last drivers for my graphics card, and have last update of DirectX11, and run DXDIAG program and send them the text file.

I always have a good answer in all my support case in the past. I think this support case not finish as i wanted, but i receive good answer too.

Is a lot luck i not buy this netbook for play EU only, i buy for other things, so is not so bad.

As of Jan 2 2014 My HP dm1 netbook all of sudden in running the latest EU. I did update to the drivers and through AMD Catalyst Control Center for the heck of it since I had not done it for long while. According to Device Manager in win 7 my AMD Radeon HD 6310 is now using driver ver: 13.251.0.0

Most of my settings are set to safe and a few on low and med. So far so good I seem to be getting better results than the old laptop I have been using a Dell XPS m1330 with vista. So much for an excuse to get another rig Maybe one day I will see EU with High settings
