There are every year special "Mob - Events" on an other planet. Atm. we have the Migration - Eomon and Longtooth are moving over Calyppo. Now and than we see RX-Units Events or Wastelander Events also on the same Planet. Than -- there are the Hydra - Bot Wars. I know it is the oldest planet and MA is the boss Are there any plans to bring in something like this in the near future, .. maybe in 2011? Or is it not allowed for PP's to do this kind of Events / Storyline till they reach a certain amount of "own" players? Would be cool to see a Huon King (shared loot no itemz pls) with huge HP or other fun things like Mutated Feran flying around with highspeed like "M-Chirpys"
sounds like fun to me, but i would like to see some unique items dropped off him then perhaps this is an idea for the high end smugglers to be dropped? have some kind of huge orathan invasion
Now THAT would be a lot of fun! Dave has already stated that he doesn't want to do something like migration just because someone else does it. He wants to do something unique. Something most (if not all) of the Arkadia community can agree with. But a huge oratan invasion would be perfect. We already know from the storyline that the oratan forces resurge every once in a while, so it's completely possible, I think. Would also be cool to have a couple firebases overrun with them (ie. broken turrets) -- but not the ones next to an academy, like Valiant Firebase is out on its own and relatively close to an oratan camp.
please keep "shared loot" off this planet, as thats one of the things that got me to give up on Calypso! and please dont copy/paste either, oratan invasion WITHOUT "shared loot" or "Loot Steal" as I call it would be something ok tho... if you insist with "shared loot" then you need to make it clear no items will be in the loot I think, and then whats the point? And is it just me who dont like event only drops for high end items as is the norm lately on Calypso? I want to have the chance to loot it whenever I decide to go hunt not just when the PP decide to run an event...
Shared loot with items suxx imo .. you cant control who is shooting on the mob and than ..the lucky one get an item ...
Some wild guessing: With the announced late September update we will get some new game mechanics I think. If there is some truth in what is said on ef.com, it sounds to me like a modified "beacon" system - Instances. Because this will be a Core-System, all PP will have access to it. Hopefully this system will have some flexibility, so that PP can choose which parameters they will set for such Events. (by example, switching off shared loot) What can be read on ef.com and between the lines, it maybe works like a wave or dungeon system, with the boss mob dropping a special item, which can be used to spawn the real boss-mob (compareable to the former beacon device). As said before: guessing
I dont mind if it is shared loot for a team - like it was a team that did the beacon. I just dont like freeriders.
Shared loot isnt that bad - if there are only stacks in the loot or there is a way to control who gets loot. iE only the Team with most dmg get the shared loot. I think none single will shoot on a mob when there is a team shooting - diff. when two teams are on the spot... so back to no items in shared loot
Thats why the team setting "Damage: Shared Loot" exist I guess, but then the team will probably know each other and trust all members to honor pre set rules for any items or high value stackables. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Team with most dmg get shared loot, how is that different then before this "shared loot"? (we also have the issue with high mu stackables that been discussed in other forums so no need to redo it here I think) Easiest is to keep this stupid "Shared Loot" back on Calypso, dont copy that please A-team
What I hope to see is events that are given a bit more though other then just spawning 10.000 big mobs at some place and without some storyline. I mean why are the Eomon migrating in the first place and from where to where and where are they if they are not migrating?? I have never been a fan of all those big not thought true events with all red radars and getting trapped at revive, so I for one hope events like that will stay away from Arkadia.
Nothing wrong with shared loot with items. Why do you want to control who shoots it? Everyone has a right to shoot and should have a go if they want to. As for the lucky one getting the item isn't that great why not say gratz to him her? Shared loot including items is exactly like you hunt in a team with damage stack share. It's the fairest team loot share in game. Apart from the loot it adds something extra to the game i.e. makes it more exciting and fun. Something different from the mundane regular day to day stuff. Storyline can be good but not always necessary if it's a yearly recurring event. Such a trivial issue really imho. Storyling or no storyline both have their merits. Without storyline may be easier to develop for a PP.
You fail to mention that in a team you choose who you are teaming with and 99.9% of the teams I been in during my almost 4years in game have that setting with the agreement that items is split between team members. With "shared loot" they force you to team with unknown people and since no one will tell you why someone will get an item or not, this shouldn't be forced upon people. Yeah I know Hanne or Marko said you had a higher chance to get the item if you done more damage, but chance is what I have to win the lottery too...
