Scavenger hunt! Official IFN Announcement

this is tho, its Free Event, like all free events, there are always people who will try and take advantage of the system. Every free event will run into this. I thought we had one of the best communities ingame, i still believe we do but the continued pleaing to the community hasnt worked.

Im doing last think i know to do, and i never wanted to do it....

Day 13 drop was made, day 14 WILL be made tomorrow etc. i will continue to advertise the event direct people to the forums, that will NOT change. i will from now tho, NOT tell people when drops are made. they will just have to look to find something =/ I will see how this works

 

Options:

• Place random number of ammo on ground (like a ticket), newbs bring ammo to you. Anyone scanned that is NOT newb-ish, is DQ'd.
• Anyone seen driving around in vehicle, DQ'd

• Or.. Transport the participants at a certain time, to a random area that has already been filled with items, and let the event begin there. Doesn't always have to be Quarry

A prototype pistol was found missing from the pilot of the supply vessel attacked 15 days ago! This is a unique pistol that must be found at all cost, it was last seen in a locked chest obtained by Colonel Raven but the code has been lost, I urge you all to help me unlock this chest and claim the pistol before the oratan do!!!!!

Today is special, Very special. I will be advertising todays event at Quarry and making sure EVERYONE understands the rules.

Rules:

DO NOT PICK UP STACKS OF NOVA!!!
If stacks are missing the event today is cancelled!!! and no one will win the prize.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-There will be 4 stacks of Nova each representing a number. they will be located fairly close to Quarry TP but will require a bit of thinking to find.

-The stacks will be 1000,2000,3000,etc each thousand represents a number, 1000=1, 2000=2 etc.

-Find the stacks, record the number and when u have all 4 numbers return me and give me the combination to the treasure.

First one with Correct Combination wins the prize =) good luck everyone YOU HAVE 2 GUESSES, USE THEM WISELY!

 

Aww damn would have loved to actualy be part of this event. Dont know if we are allowed but would have loved it. To bad there is no hope of me getting online till saturday

Congrats to Raven for hanging in there so long. If I might suggest: next time, either move the drops from place to place, or shorten the event to 2 weeks max. It seems that a month brings out all the thieves that cant play well with others. that's too bad, things like this are needed for helping the new players out.

 

Thanks. I guessed first, but I thought since I'm an adviser it would be better to give the prize to the runner up, so Gun Owen Bunny is the real winner Let me tell you, it WAS hard to give it away... a full tt asi-10 jungle. The biggest gun I've ever owned is an opalo!

Raven put out 4 stacks of nova fragments, in the directions N, S, E, and W of the quarry. From the number of fragments in each stack we got the numbers 6, 5, 3, & 2. First, I guessed NSEW, but then I thought maybe the code was to put the numbers in order of distance from the quarry, closest first. I was pretty lucky, considering that I went from memory on the distance part!

Good job on the hunt today, Raven. There was one glitch when someone picked up one of the stacks before reading the directions, but it all got sorted.

Gun Omen Bunny is a IRL friend of mine that I called about the event when I saw the post here on the forum. Lol he was so exited about this event and totaly freaked out about having to go to the doctor without having found any nova yet. LOL I did not read at that time that the Nova havent been droped yet so he ran around during the time I called him and the time he had to leave looking for something thats not there

Glad to see he managed to make it back to the event before it was over and again meny thanks Neil for giving the prize over to him. I'm sure my ears are gonna hurt the next fiew weeks from him endlessly talking about you and his new weapon

 

Day 16, Storage cleanout, 10 Makos, and a EVERYTHING not dropped from first 15 days has been thrown out, lots out there today, after today, new items, new days begin tomorrow, i will no longer bump thread with details (Only to keep thread on top once a day so everyone sees it), Myself and the advisors will advertise event itself but no longer advertse drops or start times!!!, the last days will be thrown around, if you find something well done, if you want to hunt for them, there will no longer be a set time, myself and friends will be dropping through the day everyday for last 13 days, Good Luck everyone and happy hunting.

Bump, Day 17 check it out, if you know new players have them come to Quarry and try to find something =)

 

Bump Day 18, dont forget to look around guys, as said other day all drops will be done throughout the day and now there's something at all times for everyone, dont stop looking just because im not announcing drop times anymore.

Get your new player friends to Celeste Quarry and Celeste Harbour and help rid the threat this event has caused find the scattered items before the Oratan do, the IFN is counting on it. The team is in preparation mode and will arrive in 12 days its our job to keep the threat low, FIND THOSE ITEMS!!!

guess i do suck at finding stuff

 

From running around 30 min between Celest and the Quarry a few days back I have found loads of items that I just left there

MIND try looking on patches where there are no grass and looks like a nice visible spot to drop something and you will start finding these things. Overthinking the hidingspots may be the problem because items arnt hidden their just in the open and in exactly the kind of places I would drop them if I wanted to let others find it without looking to hard (on a little hill in a flat plane / next to a solitary tree ....)
