Hi all, I am new to this game and gave it a try earlier. I am still confused as to what I should be doing as the quests seem too hard to complete. ie. Killing Oros, Finding the interns (too far to walk). Some helpful players told me to gather sweat to sell to start off. Is this the direction I should be headed? And if I do deposit to get weaps etc., what exactly do I hunt? Learning curve seems rather steep and I appreciate any help. Thx
Gathering sweet is indeed a good way to start to get some money and skills, but is a slow process. If you decide to deposit you need to figure out what you wanna do (hunting, mining, crafting) and buy the gear needed. All the gear needed for all 3 professions can be bought in the Trade Terminal. With the hunting gear you should be able to hunt the smaller Oro without much trouble.
Hi Solumlupus Your best place to start would be the Arkadia guides section @ http://www.arkadiaforum.com/content.php?290-guides. That will give you some information about all aspects of the game. The missions may at first be a bit hard but ass your avatar grows and gains more skill and understanding of the game it will become easy to do. At the start you can do a bit of sweating to get in some funds to experiment with the diffrent game featsures and gain some free skills while your at it that will lateron help your avatar espesialy for hunting. For start if you hunt you can try the mobs around the Quary and firebases as they tend to be oriantated towards lower level players. Improving your armor and buying a medkit will also benefit you while hunting and increase the level of mobs you can hunt. As you grow in skill and knowladge you can upgrade to bigger weapons and better armors and medkits and take on bigger mobs. If you have any questions feel free to give a shout on the forums or look for an AA member at the quarry and we will do our best to answer and give advice to your questions. Welcome to Arkadia and the forum Hope you are finding your way around ok now, the official Arkadia guides that Fopsie linked for you are also the place I'd recommend you start, plus of of course our storyline HERE, will explain who we are, where we came from, what happened on Arkadia and why we came here etc. There will be storyline events and missions in future, so knowing that story will of course add something to those. Also yes, get out to the Quarry, the area specifically made for newcomers to sweat and hunt the smaller creatures, getting an update there tomorrow as well, great place to meet others and to meet advisors to ask questions. Howdy Sol, and welcome to Arkadia. As others have mentioned in this thread, there are some concise guides on the forum that will eliminate a bit of frustration and uncertainty about things to do and how to do them. Some helpful advice I once received, is don't get in too much of a hurry. Do explore as much as possible, get lost out there, really! Read the storyline on this forum, talk to people ya meet in game. Most of us are friendly and eager to assist. There's so much more outside the professions or just grinding that can enhance your experience.
Bolded and underlined the part that I don't like (seeing how I "walked" every TP on Arkadia AND Caly alone and unarmed)...If you think walking is "hard" then I have no advice to give to you. Get back to me when you have some motivation. Tippin"
