Seems to me that MindArk is somehow trying to create a game where we all just go out and hunt, get 90% back, go out again. Rinse and repeat until we're out of peds, deposit more and repeat...

I might have understood it all wrong but to me, all these stackables with no real use is meant to be 101% or tt food which in MAs way is a way for us to use trade terminal which we experienced players know is a certain loss in the long run.

I was for some reason hoping that this would all change very soon, but seeing that they do not have a clue what is going on I am not sure what I should do here... I'm trying to help newcomers the few times I log in these days but I really have troubles answering "Why do you hunt in this game" today... If they asked me 5 years ago, I would say that it is because the amazing kick it gives me to know that one mob could give me something of value... Sadly that is gone today, but just for now I hope, maybe treasure hunting changes this somehow, a new profession to wake up all the old big time gamblers like myself

If treasure hunting prooves to be just another way to go out and spend 1000 peds, tt it all back for 900 peds, then 810 peds and so forth... Then I am sorry to say I am not sure how I am going to help new players to come here, there really isn't any excitement in what MindArk is doing right now.

I love what you are doing here A-Team, communicating with us on a very high level that shows that you really care about your planet and what you are doing.. It is sad to see that MindArk is the bottleneck here :(

I wish you the best in the next patch that is coming, I'm going to have a bit of vacation and rest... Personal reasons (kicked gf out of the apartment and some other shit :p)...

I do not speak much but if there is anything I am sad to see it is this game going down the sink and I hope stuff turns around, I am praying that MindArk will give us back some of the old spirit of this game :)

Short for the whole post: MindArk is a nice company, but I think they are blind to their own action at this moment... They might have something big in plan, who knows :)
A-Team is not to be charged for anything. Their feedback(read communication and development) is amazing and I love how they work.

Post might sound negative, but I only mean well in it.. Sorry if it sounds harsh!

@OP: MA is a swedish company and in sweden we close down more or less everything during july and go on vacation and that which is not closed down is running on minimum speed. So it is not something special about MA, it is the swedish culture.

Also, nice graph of auction history. I would say it is mostly as expected so far. I also expect it to go up after vacations and even more after the august update. Then it will start drop again until next update but probably not to the same level as during summer (IF that were the case, then I might worry a little bit).

So, I expect there to be peaks during events and after major updates. Valleys in between but the low point should gradually increase if everything is going well and the newcomers start using the auction.

Generally speaking I see Arkadia as a baby right now. What is there is good (thanks to all small fixes, good work) and there is plenty of potential and I have high hopes for a more interesting planet in the near future. But lots of more work is needed to get all the interesting details in place. Texture & Vehicle BP's, creative missions, more POI out in the wilderness (likes caves, tunnels behind some waterfall, natural wonders, oratan villages) etc.

The only problem I see right now is that too many resources are either hard to find/get on Arkadia or nonexistent leading to very high MU on the auction. I really like the idea of interplanetary trading (and also only lootable pvp in space as a really good way to implement it) but right now it is too many resources that need to be brought in. Especially for low level blueprints. So, I'm really looking forward to the rebalancing of blueprint ingredients in august.

I have bought some minerals on the auction for ridicules MU just to support the local economy, though.

The current droprate of UL arkadia blueprint seems fine as well. They should be rather rare and continue to be a valuable loot. If only we could get less general (i.e. former calypso) blueprint in the loot and more L arkadia BP I would be happy. But I'm not sure the PP can influence that, or?

First of all, i am a bit tired of people allways blaming MA. The balancing and development of a planet is a dialoge between MA and the planetpartner (the Arkadia team), but the main responsiblity of creating the planet is the planetpartner.

The main problem for myself right now is lack of the basic old "MA/Calypso ores". I have not seen one offer of a simple ore like Caldorite for somedays on the auction, and the planet lack many more ores and enmatters that are "basic" stuff for a lot of the crafting. They most spawn more of this basic stuff, less planet specific ores for now. I also lack paint, i don't now what colors can be looted on the planet but mostly only green in the auction.

We also need the get planet specific textures bps online as soon as possible too give some meaning of all the hides you can loot.

All this has nothing to do with blaming MA or PP....may you noticed that not even PP got a hint from MA that space will be lootable Zone....so all BP need a rework coz no trader will take the risk to transport stackables through space..and btw if you need ore dont count on auction alone...come to quarry or sanctuary and buy directly from miners..i know they search always for traders and most miners are newcomer which havent the money right now to stack up ores to bring them in auction succesful ...

And the planet partner can not further develop the planet if MA is not there to push out the patch. MA also do not give out all information about whats going to happen to planet partners. The Arkadia BP's is a perfect example of this, more below.

MA kind of messedup the planet specific bps as they wore created before MA droped the bombshell about space being lootable and made it so that some of the ores and enmaters does not drop on Arkadia anymore. The Dev team is hard at work fixing the Arkadia BP's to require only ores that can be mined on Arkadia so that no importing is required for planet specific BP's. The Dev team is also looking into changing the mining distribution a bit to make it less random so its simpler to build up a stack of a specific ore instead of getting a bunch of random hits in the same area.

Also remember that the PP can not choose what generic ores and enmaters drop on their planet and have no say about any non Arkadia related BP's. So there will be missing ores for generic bp's on Arkadia and any other PP planet as its entended to be like that by MA to try and boost trading between the planets.

Besides I currently don't dare to put stuff into auction for a normal price.
Simply because resellers buy it and re sell it for idiotic MU.

At this point I take direct orders and sell directly at crafters etc for a normal price.
And since recently I look at the orders in auction.

    Ion

Well, the problem is not the planet specific bps, is the generic bps like vehicles bps, they will still need the generic resources. What i mean is that it's also the planet partners responsibilty to think before they launched the planet and have a dialoge with MA of how things should be balanced. I can understand it can be hard to do it before a planet is launched and that the "rebalancing" is dragging out in time because of the vacation/summer time, but is not only MA fault that things are not as great that they could be.

Also, are we sure that the planetpartners didn't know about the space and pvp before it was launched?

For any who aren't aware, the PP and Community Manager have been very interactive with us here on the forum and in the game directly, answered questions and giving us heads up about what is in the works etc. On the front page of the forum you will find a Developer Posts button to check back through anything they have posted here easily, highly recommended reading.

P.S. Arkadia had it's two month birthday this week, and the next big update is around the corner now. Pinching my peds and keeping the faith :)

Another reason to not deposit (or play) during the summer... why pay for people not working? :p

    That's just silly.

"Normal" prices for materials on Arkadia (such as muscle oil) are quite different from Calypso "normal" due to supply and demand.

Don't you think that the people that have worked hard for most of the year deserve to have some weeks of vacation in the summer?

Well, i hope the rebalacing that come soon will fix some of the issues. An other problem could be that Arkadia have too few mobs, because with too few mobs it's hard to have enough mobs to make all generic stuff lootable on the planet.

Well the problem is that during summer people are free from work and play the game (especially with the crappy weather we have here now) and that during that time there is hardly any activity from the developers side. And with PP's ready to implement a lot of new stuff right after their launch, it would be nice if that could happen whenever they want and not have to wait until MA is back from holiday.

    Absolutely!

I think the problem is that when they all take time off at the same time, people who rely on their services experience difficulty. If the holidays were staggered so that there are some people in the office at all times, maybe that would be better from a player's perspective.

Well they have to keep in mind that this is a 24/7 business.

And a 24/7 business can never fully close.

I really hope for Arkadia that the VU will arrive this week and that it will change the BPs, add common ore spawns and implement missions. However I doubt that will be the case.

    Time off, yes.

Weeks at a time, and everyone from the company at once?

    Absolutely not.

Back to the original topic, I also had to slow down my mining activity, due to market inconsistency. I hope that when I'll be back from vacation, august update will have fixed the situation, or I'll be forced to go back to calypso for playing at my normal pace.

Well, not everyone are "at home", of cource they have a small group left to run the things, but no real development are done. That how things are done here, in july most of the industries closed down for a month. At my office where i work we close down for four weeks, thats the way it is.

The real challange is too get more players on the planet, because with more players both demand and supply of items increase at that gives us a more stable economy on the planet.
