The reputation system is active and much like any other forum out there it allows you to give a positive or negative reputation to any user. Some things you should know: If your post count is less than 50, you can still give reputation, but its value is 0 points. You can hover over the little green bars under an avatar name of any post to see how many rep points they have. Please try to limit the reputation you give to exceptionally good (or bad) posts. Your Rep Power shows the number of reputation points you are able to give. This will be incremented by +1 in the following ways: Every 100 posts you make (was 1000) On the anniversary of your account registration For every 100 reputation points received. In a 24 hour period you can only give reputation 50 times. (was 10) To rep the same person again, you must rep 3 other people. (was 10) All of these settings are in place to try and mitigate the potential abuse of the reputation system as seen in many other forums.
Thanks for the clarity Van, much appreciated. I have one question though Hon ... what would cause the difference in rep points between someone who has been here a while, received a few reps, but only sitting at 10 points, when certain others just joining, or just recently joined are showing 110 points or more? I didn't quite get that based on the criteria presented. Thanks.
I'm glad you asked, dear. Administrators are exempt from the rules above and have been given 100 rep power from the start. This means of course that any rep received from anyone other than administrators counts as 0 additional points, however it doesn't mean you're less awesome by any means! *PS. Check your rep
I always knew you had pixie dust in your pockets ... can't fool me. Oh, and ... purple is awesome, I'm just along for the ride ... and to stir up the universe of course. Even though that little hug there (ok, big one) was special, I was just curious. Thanks for showing me your magic wand. Forgot ... what I also noticed, was that the name of the person giving you rep doesn't show.
Yep you can see who gave you rep in your user control panel (Settings link - top right of every page)
thanks for the clear and easy to find rules And love the color scheme on the forum default, easy on the eyes
Maybe i m stupid but i cant rep anymore System says i can give only 0 rep points...and if i try that it says i cant give a rep with 0 points ... it is me or it is the system ? btw i love your new ava Snape
certain others here ;P ignore all my forum info over there <-- i just get bored at work and post way to much lol, i nearly snorted out tea when it changed to senior member ^_^ also nice work with the rules my man, makes it all much clearer until i realised i had rep up i thought everyone default was 100, although asside from all the jollys i feel my rep words are correct simply due to my activity on the forums
