I'm not a pro-miner (LVL20/21) and wonder how many NRF are common in a row.

Maybe i had a very bad day

.... 42 NRF (Enmatter/Ore) in a row with ending in a V Oil or something on drop 43.

Changed location after around 20 NRF

    greetings
    Mr-Joey

    Oof, that's pretty awful.

Assuming you weren't on FOMA or in HELL of course, or standing in one spot, etc.

Chances of 42 misses in a row is about 0.73^42, or one in 500,000.

So luckily, it probably won't happen again in the next 10 million drops.

If you had 42 double drops (en/ore, so 84 total searches) with no claim, that might be an all-time record.

LVL 20 Surv / LVL 21 Pros - unamped TerraMaster4 (and Terra Master 1 after around 30 Drops TM4 got broke)

My gift to Lootius was way to low this time ;)

Not a nice achievement .. and i dont like to see it again :p

Actually thats preaty much irrelevant. All the players get ~ 25% hit rate (it may not be after 100 drops though). As much ppl would like a static 1 depo, 3 NRFs, than repeat, its not like that and there are ups and downs. But after a while it evens out.

Yes it happens, but as others said it evens out at the end. Personally i quit mining after 15 NRF's though :)

After 10-15 drops in a row with no hits I run...about 10 seconds or so, away from that area and try again. There are vast areas where there is literally nothing to mine, either enmatter or ore, remember that area and avoid it like the black death, lol.

Im far from an experienced miner, however certain areas simply don't contain any finds, at least for my noob finder. i would change locations and keep detailed log/notes of your succesful locations to return to next day or two. Good luck and hope your luck changes! You could also try tt weapon hunting to take a break on smaller halix or even do the oro mission and get some free skills:)

in my opinion it would be NRF -> run on for 100meters.
10x NRF in a row -> change area.

To be honest, you're not the only one who have had this catastrophic NRFs, mate. If you check out my mining service log in PCF, I also got 45 NRFs in a row and I'm totally speechless... o_O I changed location, after ten continuously NRFs for three times, but it's still NRFs all the way, until my 46th drops, which was only a VIII Narcanisum (PS: I amped with level 5 amp).

So, when you're having a very, very bad hit rate, I advised you to log off for a few hours, and coming back later... :)

While mining has been bad for everyone, I've managed to hang in there...until now..as things got tighter, I have expanded my list of things I drop right into the TT and was selling a few things on auction probably once a week to keep going, but after a few weeks stalling, it fell through and I am technically ore broke..(meaning its in the storage area but not selling)..hehe With August right around the corner I think I'll take a break, and play a new game that just came out. Flying a fighter and killing a few guys. When the next patch hits, I'll see how things go then.

And now that RL obligations seem to let go a bit and I _think_ I have a bit more of free time to spent on PE... thought I should do some mining again, but after reading this thread....

    :/

Sorry to hear You've got that long dry-spells on mining... maybe I'll do one few hour run just out of curiosity to see if I can beat You all with some 50 NRF in a row :p

Till now.. no more than 6-8 NRFs in a row and a nice bonus pops up two days ago, 982 PED Erionite (unamped/Tiered Finder105)
Was on a 200 drop run... around drop 180.

    It all comes back :)
