Is this new this patch that land areas have 5% taxes yet they are unowned?
    Where are these taxes going?

As far as I know all LAs are owned by two players so taxes go to them. 5% seems a bit steep though. I'm already losing money on huons lately. Think I might need to move onto untaxed land for a while.

The areas are owned and have had some issues since launch which were fixed after the update yesterday.
The tax is set at 5% on both areas and it is fixed at that for now.

Okay a bit off topic since I already knew you and another owned those areas. But 5%, really? Sorry I have just always hated that tax figure. Also another thing(and getting further off topic but I think this is the best place to ask), Will Arkadian's see some of that tax revenue back(events and such)?

While I respect your desire to get a return on your LA investment, right now 5% is a little tough to take.

I am curious deathifier, why a higher tax then Treasure Island? Don't tell me you prefer calypso players over Arkadians? :)

The Tax Rate of 5% on pre sold land areas is mandated by Mindark, Deathifier and Hawkwing are not able to adjust the taxes.

Both landowners are passionate about developing Arkadia and it's economy, so I have no doubt they will run events and support the community.

Well i guess it's understandable from MA's point of view, they have to protect the value of the current LA's. I still don't like it though :)

Actually, if I understand it right, the tax is approx 5% only for large batches of loot.

At least one item will be taken from your loot as tax before you see the rest of the loot in the loot window.

So if you for example find two items, you will see only one item in your loot window, another will be taken as tax, so your tax in this case is 50%.

If you loot only one item on a taxed LA, it is taken as tax, and you don't see any loot at all, so your tax is 100%.

That's why people avoid taxed LAs.

Endy I dont think that is correct. Ped value of your loot is determined first. Tax is deducted if appropriate. Then specific loot stackables and items are assigned to match the value. So if your loot was one great weapon, TT value would be a little smaller.

Of course thats just my theory....

Well it had to happen eventually. LA owners got to make an income but the timing and actual value is unfortunate.

What if it's Dunkel? You can't change its TT value, only the amount of it.

So if you loot 1 Dunkel on a LA, that means you actually have found two, but one was taken as tax, so your tax is 50%, in the way I've described above.

If you find one Dunkel, it goes to MA and LA owner, don know how they split it, but you won't even see the loot window, that is your tax is 100%.

5% tax is more or less correct if you find like 8364812312 barrels of oil but not for rare and expensive ores/enmatters
