After many runs with F106 and VRX2000 always amped with Level 5, always looking for both ores/enm at the same time, all around the planet, cycling several K peds as you may understand... I think that Arkadia has a subtle design flaw from a miner PoV: resources are not concentrated (as someone else already noted at the beginning) causing many claims of many different ores/enm in a single run. This means little stacks to sell, and with the low MU for local ores, no profit after fees. I havent posted before because I thought it was a matter of time, but now the situation is getting a bit hard to sustain: you need to cycle too many peds to feed the auction with 105% MU things... Anyone thinks the same?
Yes that's why i went back to calypso...Gazz, Duru, Belkar and Cobalt...If and when Arkadia can sort out ore distribution and MU gets alot better then maybe I will come back...Oh wait...they fixed mobs to aggro and now we will have to fart around with other ppls itinerary traveling on a ship...maybe won't be able to get back ..
Yes it's pretty bad for miners. (and ofc for crafters too with the insane ingredients needed for even component crafting)
Just chatted with Dave ingame. I asked if common ores like iron, melchi, belk will start spawning and he said ores will be adjusted next week.
I couldnt get past the putting ores in storage and the refinining process.. Everytime I try to move something it gets dropped and I get internal server errors. See ya next month.. Maybe MA can get thier heads outta their asses by then and stop fucking everyone NOT on Calshitzo.
I rather believe this is intentional and by design. I am not a miner but as a hunter since 2004 I can attest to the negative effects of having so many items drop from a single mob. I have SOO many stacks of materials that are not worth enough to auction espeicially with such low markup. I think it is by design so that we have to invest more real money to hold those stacks longer before we auction. The issue is compounded as you become a higher level hunter because the stakes become much higher. MA doesnt really care who has more PED value in game they care about getting more players to deposit more money - doesnt matter if you break even with that money you deposit or even come out "ahead of the game". Most folks will never decide to withdraw and those that do quickly figure out that they have to be withdrawing quite a bit to overcome the taxes we pay to MA in the form of fees. If MA can make a bazillion items to get us to store our real world monies in they make that much more profit. Once that money is deposited it is decayed over and over as time passes until it is all safely in the coffers at MA HQ.
And not only that, they make it such a pain to withdraw. You either have to have a bank that can take the international transfer or use a service that is quite questionable (Neteller only offers "limited" services in Canada). Then you have to wait 40+ days before getting the money. It's quite clear they just want your money
They are a business so of course money is their motivation -- that goes without saying. Bottom line, I think folks expect too much from these folks in a way -- I would NEVER trust MA the way folks do that dump money into this game as an "investment" that some folks do. If you considered investments in MA as you would in any other foriegn nation I would put MA there with many other shady 3rd world nations. The way MA changes the rules, stats, drop rates, "balancing" whenever they want -- obviously for their benefit not ours -- its no different than some two bit dictator telling you that your business investments now belong to the state Maybe more accurately that the currency youve been trading in (think items) are now worthless and you will have to use another currency which you can buy at the exchange rate 10 old currency to 1 new currency. What am I saying? This is a game run (often unfairly and poorly IMO -- but its not my business) by a business that is rather small and by the terms of use makes no guarantee to you. Dont play with money you will ever need returned to you and "invest" only if you have money to throw away. With that in mind, do all the activities in the universe (EU) that you enjoy -- and remember its just a game dreamed up to pay the bills at MA to provide for their families. Not a bad idea actually. To the OP, your situation is no different than anyone elses -- the reason you think it doesnt make sense is probably because you think someone at MA cares. The fact is they do what they do to make money and it is probably designed just the way it is to frustrate you to the point you decide to deposit more to keep going because at some level we find this game entertaining and this is the cost of our entertainment. I have had to learn this lesson the hard way. Dont expect too much -- just enjoy the game for what it is. One more edit . A-Team and company may actually care about the universe itself and this is why I moved to Arkadia. It seems so far that they actually care about growing and nurturing their playerbase which is something that MA seems to have forgotten about long ago. If the problem the OP is citing is something they can change and didnt intend then perhaps there is something that can be done. I would like to see something done on Arkadia about mobs dropping 20 different stackables. Still, in the end, it is just a game run by a company trying to pay the bills and keep a roof over their heads.
Therred makes a compelling point. Tho its not something MA has forgotten, its something they have neglected to show in the first place. From the start they did not care much for the average player who depos like 50 bucks a month. I am sure that in the past when a client depos 25 000 USD plus, they take note and certainly support the individual with all the friendlyness and bias support that goes with that. No-one believes that a game-hosting company should behave like crooks towards their long-standing client base. For many years their clients voiced their dissapointment, dismay and anger because of this and was always dully ignored. It was only a matter of time before many high-rollers trickled away never to return. Some who remained had too much invested to just do a chip-out and leave. many got canned and lost everything in vallue and hard work. It was inevitable that staff-revamp in Sweden would occur. Especially the deeply intrenched and sturderly rooted loot-distribution staff that played God with this game for so many years. The community hopes that whomever takes over the reigns from FPC, that they would be the same calliber as Dave Dobson CEO of Arkadia Studios. The why is obvious. In a RCE clients intrests should be mannaged by competancy. We all saw how a Game dev with evil intentions and a solemn face was incapable of embrassing their custommers as hosting entertainment. Then whe saw someone else come on-stage thats completelly opposite to that. Now thats bound to make some waves. If you are a god of a realm, depending on what attadude you have, your subjects will feel and experience your mood. Actually its an entire matter of life experience very applicable to any bussiness model. Ask yourself why it is so that the Honest, Upstanding and Righteous Bussinesman flourishes in profitabillity and generally blessed? And why is it that the disshonest, shadowy bussiness models fail so frequently? Hosting a game to entertain others, developed by a game-loving individual, is NOT a short-term get rich deal. Its something done with dedication and the love for it, and especially shared with sentiment by all who come together through such an endeavour. The pottential is great, from the outset, yet when the big cash started flowing in, people got blinded by the prospects. Perhaps living beyond their means and a burning need for higher financial positive cash flow. Many factors that would have been the driving force behind all that had transpired over the years. Powerless larger client-base with forced implimentations that bennifitted only the host, to the point of real nastyness. All these things combined right up to the climax of no -return, was impossible to avoid. With patience, true-dedication and a long term profitabillity goal, this game Project Entropia, could be the dream as it was meant to be in the beginning. It is therefore righteous for the Entropia Community, who pay for their entertainment, to demand a main Host`s competentcy in dealing with their clients non-biast and in fairness. My hope is that Arkadia gets the power and abillity to run this sector of space adequitelly for its clients. For Calypso my hope is that they recieve New mannagement, who can run the show as it should be done. With Class in the spotlight, no lurking in the shadows, making peops nervous. If youre gonna behave like you have a lot to hide, then it means you actually do. Personally, I have no bad-intend or evil-will towards MA. We can do nothing now and be patient.
Wow, that was some post, also very true. The guys at the top have never really cared for the average player on EU..not that we dont put our money into the game too, but because they know we dont have thousands to spend, so they can just ignore us and wait for another high roller. I personally have met Deathifier and John once or twice, they're decent guys, and they dont act all stuck up like some, so my opinion is if they have the cash and are willing to spend it on a virtual game that could close without notice someday, let them. Being the stubborn type that refuses to spend any more than necessary, and taking weeks off to let the disappointment of losing that money get forgotten, I've been on this game for a long time..longer than any other I've played, why? Because I like the scenery, the feel that I'm my own man, and that someday I'll hit "The Big ONE" and get a lot of my money back. It probably wont happen, but it's a daydream at least..lol.If we had better company management, they might understand that a million players spending 20-50 US dollars a month is MORE money than a few players spending 50k US once or twice, then maybe things would get better for the average player.
I certainly dont deposit on a regular basis (OK, Ive been playing since '04 on 10$ ). I cant afford 20-50 a month for a game where it would be all to easy to lose it in one hunt. I would deposit perhaps on my b-day or something just to get that armor piece I was really wanting. I would however consider the money spent and no longer mine. The item I purchase is not mine if your get down to it. Look guys, this is a fun game but there are too many folks who actually think that MA made a game that is solid as a bank. Its not. Its a company that wants your money and they built this game to get you to feed the slot machine. Have fun, just dont delude yourself.
