Please A-Team we need a word from you

Hi Dave.

There is a lot of uncertainty here on Arkadia, I think a lot of us are a bit scared about the future; MU on things has rocketed to sky, globals dropped drastically, a lot of people has gone back to calypso.

I think that the people who decided to stay here need a word from Dave...

Am I overreacting?

 

No panic, yes, you are overreacting.

1) Players leave, so less resources on auction
2) Oprtunity to get hands on important BPs = more resources needed, but not enough miners there

So of course prices are sky rocketing, but typically only for a week, max 2, after that everyting will be normal anyway. Space will work in a way (we don't know which way, but someone will work something out).

 

This morning I've been mining for a couple of hours at least. Tons of NRFs, *NO GLOBALS* by any others in chat. Materials not selling in auction even if I've placed offers with MU way lower thatn others. It is a bit worrying, to me, even if maybe I'm overreacting

 

The problem isnt mining so much, its the fact that we are running out of the basic items, and those that are available are rocketing in price. IE: Muscle oil.

With the Auctions being "planet only"now means that if we need something we either have to pay HUGE MU on basic items, or we go without. If we go without then we dont need other things like ores etc, if we dont craft we dont need to mine, or hunt.

If we dont do any of that then we have nothing to do.

 

Ok, maybe then it's better to know what crafter are looking for right now I've quite a bunch of muscle that was a "reserve" for bad times, for example, destined to TT

 

noobs can shoot karabok puny.. they drop muscle oil.

The key for us now on Arkadia is to know who needs what and to organise the supply, so we can start the economy rolling
Crafters, please make some thread(s) in economy section to tell what are your needs.

I think the big guys just hit the tp before last VU. At least those I had on FL did. However the low-mid lvl crafters who stick with Arkadia for symphaty just really create some auction orders! That is often how the big guys get their ressources. A while ago we had quite a few pages of auc orders. Now when I checked at the night before VU there where 7 orders(!) only.
That way not too many things are going to be traded. They need to have some base value they ARE going to sell for otherwise ppl can´t be arsed to put them into auc in the first place. For the crafters it´s a good way to get their ressources very cheap and sometimes quick too.

EDIT: Oh and I agree with bass that a word from the devs would be much apprechiated.

 

So in the first place users need to say what they need for their activity, sounds normal, so... who starts?

 

Higher level Terra Finders and amps. That's what I usually look on auc. There are amps, but I would like to test out a few Arkadian Terra-series finders that reach 700 - 1000m deep, but those are harder to find or bp's for them are not dropped yet, or some ingredients needed missing.. who knows.

Completely agreed. Please fill orders so that we know what people need.

 

I'm supplying some crafters on Arkadia but it's quite hard to get enough resources at the moment.
If anyone wanna sell ores/enmats or hunting loot, please pm me!

Still, IMO it's better to use the auction at this level, so that we can create "movement" in economy and maybe lower MU a bit.

 

Sounds like the perfect opportunity for any aspiring traders / resellers to start buying.

 

Just a little FYI, Tuesday was actually Dave's birthday, so I suspect he may have taken a (well earned) day or two off work to be with family and friends. I'm sure he or Cyrus will be posting as usual again as soon as they have something they can respond to or share with us, we are not forgotten

OK Basic list of some of the things we crafters need:

Muscle oil

Cumbriz

Fire root

Pyrite

Terrudite

Morpheus

Quantium

Typonolic

Pyrite

At the moment there are not too many crafters on Arkadia ( that I am aware of ) and we need to craft even the most basic stuff to gain the BP's for the better stuff. Most of the basic stuff requires the basic oils and ores. We understand that ppl need to get their MU too, but overpricing something that is needed will only gain you a small profit and will kill the crafters and you will find that there will be no market for your goods, and there will be no goods to buy with your profit.

If we can find 2-4 traders willing to buy and sell at reasonable prices then that will make a huge difference. People with small quantities of oils/ ores can sell them rather than TT them, no-one is paying auction fees to sell 2 typo steam, crafters get what they need at reasonable prices, hunters/miners can sell ALL their goods for MU, traders establish a consistant cash flow. Everyone wins.

We need to work for the benefit of the community rather than ourselves for a short period of time. If that means less profit for a few weeks, then lets do it, because we will all benefit hugely in the long term.
