Ok, before anyone starts to laugh, NO not those parts. Now..one of the things all games I've seen so far have in common is this: they want us to accept, gladly, that we are NO LONGER human. That we can run across vast deserts without water, or swim for ever breathing water and never drown. Or run across continents without the need of food or rest. If we all accept that, then congratulations...your a cyborg or worse, but definitely NOT human.

A person, military or not, needs food to keep his health up, and rest every so often, no, he doesn't need to sit still or lay down for 8 hours straight, but some rest is needed, so why not a 5 minute break every hour or so to grab a bite to eat and refresh our body's? I understand people in games want to feel invincible, well then don't pretend to be human..lol. If you want to truly show the humans trying to make it on some alien world, then show them as we are, only in really good condition, there's not a single one of us here that can run for an hour or more without rest, so why make it seem that to get to a star to explore, we need to give up humanity for some machine body or something.

It doesn't mean we need to die if we overdue it, but maybe have our health drop to a lower level because we aren't taking care of ourselves, something like that. And no "potions' if I wanted to live on those I'd play Wow, this is the future, food can and will be carried for long times without going bad, but sooner or later, you'll be away from camp and run out of food, so eating fruits and berries would keep you going until you make it back, but without anything, you'd be a sorry looking case in a day or two without food.

I'd like to think I'm an unstoppable machine :D

No but seriously, while I do hear what you're saying, idk if many people would like that. For me personally, I don't get to spend a whole lot of time in EU. When I am on, I don't want to be spending it taking 5 minute breaks (I think that would be frustrating).

    That's just my opinion though.

Oh, I understand that no one wants to be reminded their human. At least online. And yes, having to stop to eat a bite or rest for a minute might cut into peoples fantasy that they're immortal and in perfect health, but games are getting more and more realistic..within reason of course, since we all tend to want to live either in the future, flying spacecrafts and trading (me)..or in the past..(knife users and swordsmen)..just so long as we aren't reminded we're here, and that Rl sucks..lol.

I like the idea of showing more human characteristics. The only problem I would see is if MA made your avatar eat food- well theres just another thing to spend ped on which wouldnt make anybody feel happy. Again I think your idea would be great if we added more social activities or cool places to hang out and just chat. The only place that seems to exist is Neas where people are too busy sweating or Port Atlantis. Maybe there could be a place where people TP into thats designed to be a social gathering place.

Kind of like if there was a bar- that looked like a bar- or dance club- or something similar to a coffee shop- something that mimics social places back on earth. Would like your take on this...

To be honest, places to hang out are just that, places where the few who can afford it make a spectacle of themselves wearing the best armor, or cloths and telling their storys. The average player stays away because they get pushed to the side by the "Elite" and can't compare so they either don't come at all, or only stay long enough to find a friend to talk to and then go somewhere else.

When I went thru Aircrew school we pretty much did physical stuff non stop for a good part of the day. We would start first thing with a nice run beforehitting the dive pool for stamina and water survival training. Then it was another run before we had a short break to eat. Then it was off to classes where we had short lessons and get right into practice of what we were learning. After that oit was time on the obsticle course and finish the day with another run.

Do all that then go out partyin half the night just to come back in the morning hung over to start it all again. Many a day we all wiped puke from our boots after that first run.. Ill say this .. stamina builds extremel quick doing that.

Now as for that all going down in game.....that all depends on how it would be implemented. MA has a way of perverting any good idea that has happened in game so Id be VERY careful what you wish for. Specially beating the bush on that eating idea...that my friend will most certainly only come to a very bad end for the players.

I think Tikki is on to something with the accessable places to hang out. Standing in one place while may ava rocks back and forth chatting with someone really sux. (Glad that nordic babble talk is gone it was like listening to my ex) Just having a building where we had the illusion to sit at like a coffee house as we did this would make the game have a different feel to it.

Board rooms for corporate soc's so they could work on plans for events or how they run sales. Even something like I had in an old game called Dark age of Camelot where I used my house as a guild hall that had permissions set so only my guild members could use crafting setups or llittle people that acted as the games version of a TT. Of course we could also let it all be open so anyone could wander thru and have a look or use your terminals.
