How about more weather folks... that can be done with CryEngine yes? Proper blizzards! Snow on the ground that slows both avas and mobs down, and all leaving temporarely tracks as well. Tropic rain in other spots - remember to add rain "sound"!

Real weather cycles... some lakes in northern parts will at times be "frozen" - introduce skates - and ice fishing!

I'd like a "polar" type continent or very large island, with scary winds blowing over the endless ice-tundra's, snow hiding holes in the ground - falling into caves hard to get out of... hard (but possible) to climb high mountains where unusuall animals and strange treasure can be found. Temperatures so low one needs a "undersuit" not to freeze to death (like what's used as underwear for scubadiving drysuits).

Rain and sad fog in temperate zones...

rambling on ;) point is, I'd like to see some weather!

I too would like some awesome weather effects to be added to the planet; my rig could definitely handle it.

The only thing though would be that they would need to have an option to turn it off on the lower quality settings for users who couldn't handle the graphical onslaught of awesomeness.

Weather adds plenty of drama to the game and isn't as taxing on your rig as it might seem. It is something we are looking at. No promises ofc but I do appreciate your input. One thing (among many) that Cryengine2 is brilliant at is water, and the rain pooling on the ground is amazing. I'll try and keep you updated if any progress happens on this front.

We really are keen to push the tools so I really want to encourage everyone to share your dreams and ideas of what you'd love to see on Arkadia. Almost every day guys on the team call me over with a 'check this out!" and I find my jaw dropping....remember I have played EU for years, so if my jaw drops it has to be cool! Today it was the cliff faces, a rather clever technique to add heaps more detail into the rock...maybe you'll remember when we launch to have a good look at the cliffs to see what I mean :) (or pressure Cyrus, he might share a screen shot soon).

haha Funny you say this about the cliffs. I was messing around in the sandbox last night and figured a way to do this with in engine tools and not have to make special textures to make a cliff look like a cliff.

PS.. mine are scalable if you think like a rock climber and look around for next foothold. I just need to learn how to make hand grabbing of these viable as well then it would be like true free climbing.

    Hey Larkin

Understand the need for screenies. Discussed with the development team with regards to the issue and they'd much prefer showing something more unique than just focusing on cliff faces. I'll be releasing some more screenies in the coming weeks. Your patience is much appreciated.
