The Pirates Directory Moderators: Please Create a SPACE folder and put this in it. May be a few others Would like to start a list so that fun loving pirates can get together. If you are a pirate, or have been killed by one, please leave a name here and I will try and add it to the list. Now, being on the list does not necessarily mean that a person is a pirate, just that someone has reported them to have killed, personally. This is not meant to malign, abuse or harass any player. It is a warning to all those involved. The threat is real. CONFIRMED Worldleader Superior [Admiral] at Monria. lurks in the SS and flies out when you appear. Report of being looted in the YELLOW ZONE at FOMA Old Pirates List: http://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/forums/showthread.php?234641-Pirate-List&highlight=happy_hipster
The only thing wrong with the pirates in this game is they never seem to learn that aside from the first time I went in to space in my sleipner and lost 50 nutrio bars I just don't carry lootables. Four pirates have since shot me down so many times since then that my quad has lost just over 21 peds tt value, MA alone knows how many hundreds of peds of ammo that's cost them for 0 peds loot.
Please Don't Feed The Pirates. I don't shoot em down. You know why? THEY DONT CARRY LOOT. Its a waste of my ped. Pirates enforce MA profits, deed holder profits maybe too(help!) They ensure ppl use the TP and pay for delivery. If pirates don't carry loot, WHY ARE YOU? Shooting you is not a waste of ped. It is a gain of skills. HOW DO I REDUCE THIS? Dont repair. One click, enough to fly. He gets skills from one shot, earns nothing , and lets you go when you return.Plus, this saves on decay. Report them here. You report them, not me. Make em famous. See if it helps. Maybe people will stop pirating because they alienate a community. Nah...
I do this, too, for quite a long time now. My ship looks like a smoldering wreck about to fall apart and ever since I never had stress from pirates again, only scramble to save it from incorrigible repairers when I need it anywhere on planet.
Am curious why you don't repair it and get the skills to help with crafting, why let the pirates get all the skills. Also the more they have to shoot you the more ped they lose, and the more captaincy you may gain.. which contributes to health. Not repairing your ship may be a false economy. Better to rep yourself than let others get the skills.
The pirate may also be working on 'improving' his title and not repairing your ship offers cheaper kills.
I understand your point, but the decay I pay concerns me more than the pirates' spending. I'm not out to cause them losses because they annoy me, it's merely a side effect or rather, the consequence of their solemn decision, not mine. They also get fewer skill points from a one-shot kill than from taking down a fully healed foe. I still fly my first quad, but markups have gone up since. Yes, being stingy is bad for the economy... everybody else's except mine When I want more repair skills I'll be happy to return to your mothership, which should be your advantage then also.
I can see your reasoning but as far as I know the TT decay is the same whether vehicle was full SI at start of shooting or not.. not worth it to MA to track shots etc. I am also using my original quad and hope to do so for some while, despite many evasive manoeuvres to make the pirates burn ped, and I am in space in my quad a lot.. As to the original point of this thread, I am not sure how much use a list of pirates ever really is.. the well known names are quickly learned and memorised by space travellers, the lesser known ones come and go, and many are just wannabees who are here a few days only The list can therefore quickly become very large, very outdated and in effect useless. Sitting around checking it, instead of attempting to get away clean simply gives a pirate time to come camp you.
Is it? I admit I never examined that closely, but it would be counterintuitive. Like armour decays with every hit, every weapon or tool you use decays per single application, not once per mob or whichever thing it is used on. Why would vehicles be under such a different scheme? If I keep it at minimum SI, both the pirate and I would incur minimum cost from a "meeting", is all I can imagine so far. Not true?
I've been flying out of Monria SS, too - is that now a crime? I know the guy and seriously doubt he even has a gun.
It is pretty confirmed when the chat log says "Hipster has been killed by admiral". Piracy is not a crime. Neither is PVP. I personally don't like piracy or pirates, but Im allowed my opionions, and y'all yours. Once a murderer, always a murderer. Own it if you are, don't be squeemish.
I haven't seen a pirate for months now. I guess they all quit, which I personally feel is a good thing. Pirates lead to anger, anger leads to hate, hate.. well we all know what side it leads to.
Me neither. Yet pirates are the hound dogs needed to drive any spaceship business. Could be a coordinated withdrawal to lull people into taking more risk again, or they're finally getting bored themselves with just being a tool, RL changes for some, or a generation change. Who the hell knows, all is speculation and the discussions about it have been repeated ad nauseam already. I'm also doubtful whether a renewed compilation of names serves any useful purpose. But collecting those log messages "A killed B" with a location and timestamp might become a good resource over time. Just the raw data, nothing else*. The usual discussions ensuing would only lead to an inevitable lock. * Just got an idea. Need to take care of some RL things, OP expect PM within a day or two.
Those are some awesome posts, and I am not trying to malign. See what you are saying raw data, piraacy "seasons" , schedules, etc...
If you want to transport loot then there are safe means to do it, and I think all pircay does is make people alter their behaviour. It is annoying to get shot down but I personally tend to turn round and shoot back, more skills for me too. I do carry loot into space sometimes but only between certain planets and at certain times, and I'm not going to give away anymore hints to pirates lol I'd agree there seems to be less sign of pirates lately, maybe they've all been doing the migration???
I disagree on spaceship business requiring pirates. I use the Xxx privateer sometimes because I don't want 30 minutes through the boredom of space. It's the only reason, because I don't Carry lootables through space.
I wonder how many pirates happen to be Australian? It seems a lot, but that may be because I am online when Australian pirates are.
I am owner of the mothership Varyag and if all the pirates went away Varyag would still be doing very well. Varyag has no need of pirates directly or indirectly in any way shape or form.
