    Hello Arkadians.

I wanted to start a discussion about the gap between Category 1 and 2 in the Gold Rush competition.

Personally I feel like going from 110hp mobs (cat.1) to 1000hp mobs (cat.2) it quite a gap. On Arkadia we have a lot of players who are low/mid level in hunting, and once hitting 125hp I've seen people get discouraged going into cat.2 because they might not be able to handle 1k hp mobs.

My suggestion is to add a catagory in between cat.1 and 2 with 500hp mobs.

Now I would like to know how the community thinks about that.

A very understandable request I would support.

Just as for the specific mob in category 2, it is much easier than people think it is and i.m.o. too many shy away without even trying. 1k hp are a chunk to take down, yes, but they deal quite low damage compared to other mobs in that range. They are no comparison to Riptor or Kadra or even high-maturity Oro of the same level rating, e.g. A disciple armour and whichever fap you normally use is totally sufficient to stand while chipping away at it. You are rewarded with a higher chance to swirl than with the stuff you normally do.

Knowing we mortals have no chance at winning anyway, the side mission is what makes it worth going, and with another round of Goldrush 7 out of 12 months now there is no need to pressure oneself over completing a mission chapter. After all it's 2 million hp, which makes it a matter of budget only. So far I'm doing excellent on a shoestring while the pattern of above average loot in the first few days every GR lasts, and will likely finish a mission next month short of finding money for a blowout.

I have done Cat.2 myself as well, now backed down to cat.1 for 2/7. With the dps I have I can do a lot more kills in cat.1 and actually feel like having a shot at the prizes compared to cat.2.

If people think they won't be able to compete with other players for prizes then a lot of people might not even start GR.

I agree. Having a gap from 30 pec per kill to 3 ped per kill is too much.

It is not so much a matter of the difficulty of the mobs as it is the bankroll required to play it (even just for fun) as pointed out by San. The skill requirements for doing cat 2 is not that much higher than doing cat 1 but you need 10 times the size of the ped card

I would fully support a "cat 1.5" to increase the availability.

Crazy gap for a player with 125 hp and improper gear. Cat 2 is doable for a player like me but a cat 1.5 would be great :p

Having had a 1st and 2nd in cat 1, and now being forced to do cat 2 I have quit at 8 hours in because it is not worth doing. Total ped lost about 800 and points scored 411, only 903 magurgs killed. It is a massive difference and understandable I guess. I've gone from the top of Cat 1 to the bottom of cat 2 so ok I know in advanve I wont be in with a chance but realistically I can only possibly complete the cat 2 evade mission once in 20 hours. So I've given up and I'm skilling up on mobs that pay out better than cat 2 magurgs frankly as it makes more sense. I think maybe that should be of note to the ark devs. I have noticed that the scores for cat 2 for the last 3 events have been lower that the other cats so maybe that is an indicator that the catagory is out of balance???

I think I've had a change of mind about this slightly, I've just completed 20 hours, points were not good, but got 1 5k token, and went over the 100k skill points level. Had 17 globals and enjoyed it. Having been a lot more sensible with weapon and armour selection it was fun.

I'm looking forward to the next few now.
