    Exactly this.

As an aside... the entire concept of a Virtual Reality President was created by Neverdie. MA only got involved when they realised it would amount to free publicity for the game (and appear to tie-in with a CLD-related press release that MA created years ago that loosely mentioned a future government). Same for CND/FOMA of course. Ingenious from both sides, and possibly even good for the game in the long run. Just a little bit shady.

I could see the point, not of a government, but of a body of player representatives, IF there were millions of users and the developers weren't capable of weeding through all the feedback themselves. But that's not the case.

As far as Neverdie being president of the universe, that was just a publicity stunt. There wasn't even a real election, just some poll on Facebook most of us didn't hear about until after the fact.

I am always interested in sources for statements like that. Hints at some form of a participatory model came up with the introduction of CLDs, possibly a bit earlier. Anything I missed to shed light on private interest other than that of the company running the whole show?

I think its a great idea, if you want a real life feel to the game that is the way. If its a corrupt gov or not you have the same chances in life :)
As Orpheus said above, there will be more people looking into improving the system and gathering feedback about what players do enjoy and would like to see changed, more ideas equal more possibilities.

I think if people are going to insist on doing this then the seat of govt should be a PVP zone so that if they do turn out to be corrupt or basically self serving and useless like a real govt we can have the option of eliminating them, as is a potential option in real life.

Otherwise it's just going to be a cause of bad feeling, arguments and resentment, ruining what is a great place. Just like real life.

Killing a guy cause you don't agree with him when he was voted for by the people wont help anything. He'll still have the powers that you gave him till next election... But if you think its stress relieving then why not.

Personally I think your a bit Cynic about life, im loving it :)

I won't be giving anyone any powers, my point was that introducing politics will just ruin a chilled out fun planet.

And to your other point you know nothing about me so lets stop the personal comments now shall we.

A system of participation and feedback in the loop of idea development is one thing. Offering positions of whatever political power for individuals to aspire and compete for is another thing. Except, maybe --

I sincerely wish for Mr. Neverdie that he has a better plan, or a back door...

I never did comment on your personal life, Youll notice San mentioned real life and I merely mention how Cynic it was, this is a forum and im allowed my opinion. Introducing politics will add new dynamics and allow player to get involved with its development. Each to their own opinion.

Cant stand the heat get out of the kitchen.

We don't need this political stuff to get involved. We have direct access to the Arkadian developers already. Why add an extra layer in the way?
