Arkadian Alliance - Go Swirl Yourself Monthly Competition (2017)

Songkra Valley and Khorum Coast are no longer a part of BIG Industries PLA from end of 31st Dec 2016.

New Event

This event replaces the previous ‘per global rebate monthly program’
From January 1st 2017, the new event cycle will be run monthly, in conjunction with Starkiller’s LA
The format will be similar to that used in Merry Mayhem

Frequency: This competition will be held calendar monthly

Khorum Coast [9115, 27387, 105] - Previously Known as Arkadia Land Area 3
Sentosa's Reach [14845, 32276, 144] – Previously Known as Arkadia Land Area 4

Prizes

Prizes for this event are as follows and prizes may be increased depending on activity and sponsorships.

1st Place – 10 Arkadia Underground Deeds (or PED Equivalent)
2nd Place – 1500 PED + 10 Neurostim-A
3rd Place – 5 Arkadia Underground Deeds (or PED Equivalent)
4th Place through 10th Place – 1 Arkadia Underground Deed (or PED Equivalent)

Note: Prizes are intended to be more valuable for 2nd place to encourage using strategy instead of raw power.

How to Participate

Just hunt on any of the participating land areas (see above) on Arkadia from January 1st through January 31st. No registration is necessary.

How to Score

Your base score will consist of your top 10 globals and HOFs between 50 and 399 averaged. (Add them up and divide by 10)
This allows you to improve your score the longer you hunt.

How to Qualify

Only a total of 10 globals are required to qualify.

At present the leaderboard will update daily between 00:00-03:00 server time. We hope to increase the update frequency in the future.

How to Win Bonus Points

Additional points can be added to your base score on a daily basis as follows:

From your hunting:

Every global or HOF between 400 and 999: +1 point
Every HOF 1000ped or greater: +3 points

From being the best every day:

HSL (Highest Single Loot) of the day from the combined LAs: +0.25% bonus on the base score

From being the best of the month:

At the end of the month, the highest single loot (HSL) on each Land Area will be awarded a +5.0% base score bonus.

From being lucky:

This is the ONLY bonus award in which the mining profession can be used.

In addition to these awards, looting a rare item will net you +1 bonus point, without limit.

Examples include Piron UL, Gravis UL, mining sootos that trigger a HOF (swords, armor, modified nanites - but not jars, maps, paintings).

* If any rare item is not accompanied by a global or HOF then a screenshot will be required that clearly shows the time, date and an indication of which land area because rare item HOFs do not have land area identifiers on them.

From winning the weekly power-grinder events:

Every week, there is an event on each land area. The prizes are:

1st place: 5 Neurostim-A + 10% score bonus to all swirls
2nd place: 5% score bonus to all swirls
3rd place: +0.1% bonus to total score

Multipliers

For fairness (parity), some mobs may have multiplier adjustments to their global values to make both land areas equal, based on cost to kill. They are as follows:

Trophy Mobs

* Mutated Nusul - 600%
* Ubo - 200%

Khorum Coast

* Mutated Hadraada - 150%
* Mutated Zadul - 150%

Songkra Valley

* Mutated Beladoth – No Multiplier
* Mutated Otorugi – No Multiplier

Sentosa's Reach

* Mutated Madana – No Multiplier

Each mob is weighted based on their average cost to kill so that no land area has an advantage over another and thus is open to all types of players, from the less seasoned (Khorum Coast/Sentosa's Reach) to the mid-level and up (Songkra Valley).

Additional Rules and Considerations

• Teams are not permitted. However, you can use a fapper outside of team.
• Owners of the participating land area may hunt on either land area but cannot win any prizes.
• Sponsors can participate but cannot win their prize back. In the event that this occurs, the prize will be given to 11th place, 12th place, and so on.

 

Event Sponsorships

Sponsoring any part of the event, in any form greater than 100 PED, will receive ad space in this thread as a donor, a note next to the place of the prize on the leaderboard, and a spot on the Songkra Valley estate (you must provide a sign) to advertise your shop or services.

Intent to sponsor must be communicated 24 hours before the event.

Donation must be in hand by the start of the event to qualify.

Ad space is first come, first serve until visible area is out of item points.

Scores will be updated automatically between midnight and 1am server time. Scores will be displayed down to 4 decimal places in case of a tie.

Buying of Loot of Participating Hunters

In the effort to boost Arkadia's economy, we will buy the following loot from any hunter who has registered 30 or more globals in total in the following rates below. In the event that there are other shop owners who would like to buy these materials at a better rate, feel free to make this offer in #arktrade.

We realize these are not the best prices, but because of gold rush oversupply, this is what we can offer at a minimum, and will prevent you from needing to TT. We encourage you, that if you are able, to sell to auction for the best possible value for your efforts:

Buying only from participating land areas:

All oils and wools, except pancreas oil @ 100.50%

Pancreas Oil @ 100.10%

All wools @ 100.50%

Beladoth Nails @ 110%

Animal Oil Residue @ 100.7%

Always buying:

Shrapnel @ 100.6%

Output Amplifier Components @ 120%

Any nanites, which drop – Fair Market Value

A notice to material buyers: If you wish for us to facilitate buying of materials for your purpose in addition to the above list, let us know and we will facilitate buying the materials at your proposed purchased value + 0.25%. You must be in good standing and be a resident or a "regular" of Arkadia to take us up on this service.

A warning to all, we will buy these materials for those actively hunting on the participating land areas in proportion to what you would receive during your hunting. At this time, we would not be buying animal oils, wools, and beladoth nails that may come from other areas such as Gold Rush. We would be buying everything else regardless. These restrictions may change over time.

The mobs on Khorum Coast award mission points twice as fast as normal missions.

Mutated Hadraada - 60,000 killpoints: 15.38ped Inflict Ranged Damage

Mutated Zadul - 60,000 killpoints: 18.88 ped Athletics

Songkra Valley

Mutated Beladoth - 60,000 killpoints: 61.68 ped Athletics (Great for HP and Evade!)

Mutated Otorugi - 60,000 killpoints: 54.35ped Alertness (Great for Evade!)

Sentosa's Reach

Mutated Madana - 60,000 killpoints 47.09 Aim

The first weekly events have been scheduled on Songkra Valley and Khorum Coast on Saturday 12pm-1pm and 1pm to 2pm server time respectively. This will likely be a later time in future weeks because I simply forgot this was not US time. :}

Going forward is there any chance you'd consider a guaranteed reward of xxx peds for x number of globals achieved per month?

Competing against others for a big payout is great. However the chance of hitting 50+ globals or possibly 100+ globals a month and come up empty handed kinda makes me think really hard if I want to join.

 

It's a competition. I can't offer X peds per global, then I cannot offer nice prizes. We deal with this by paying down 10 places. Pretty much most who will try, will get something at least. It's highly unlikely you will not get something by doing 100 globals.

Also, you can start or finish anywhere within the month. There's no reason you could not start now. You only need 10 globals to qualify and this event is very hard to run the table with. You could easily get up to the prize range very quickly.
