Aakas Instances Opened. Its been a long time but I am happy to report that the Aakas instances are once again open. There is a small change to the requirements for accessing the Aakas instances. Arkadian Keys will no longer be directly used in accessing the Aakas instances. Instead the Arkadian Keys need to be converted to Arkadian Mini Keys @ Bert Wilhelm located inside the Aakas chamber. The Arkadian Keys need to be full TT value in order to convert them. The Arkadian key will be converted to a 1 PEC Arkadian Mini Key used to access the instance doors and the remainder of the Arkadian Key value will be returned as Universal Ammo. There is also a random chance of getting something extra when doing the conversion Regards, Chris
Very cool, but not going to lie as a melee user this kinda stinks. Thank u for re opening the instances
Wah, they're open again, that's good news! :biggrin2: Wonder if the UA will be returned at the exit, or at the entrance? Guess I'll see it when I get in-game. Curious to see what those 'something extra' might be. Ty for the fix. Edit: a cooldown? Is the 'something extra' interesting enough that people would spam keys?
Great change The UA is given once you convert the key. The "mini-key" ends up in your Misc. tab in your inventory and ammo given directly. Good way to make sure people get the key TT back.
agreed......Thank you very much for bringing the instances back but yet more Uni Ammo for a melee user..........:banghead:
I sure hope not The mission dude does not give the option. There is no problem with the golden door return. Because of the high key TT to ammo and decay spent ratio, the returns are in the 90%. Take the key tt away and the returns go to the capped 75% tt returns of box based instances.
Thanks for the info, that's a nice idea. Also ran a Key in team, and saw the Televators for the first time correctly: so they have been fixed too. Only the mobs in the before last room still refuse to show themselves, unless you go back to use the last Televator to trigger the spawn. Had normal hunting returns, and glad that they are back. :biggrin2:
An idea which needs a 2-pronged approach, i.e. petitioning both MA and Ark devs to implement the following: 1. On Ark side, convert the key to shrapnel instead of universal ammo (adjusted by conversion rate) 2. On MA side, make it so that shrapnel can be dropped into the repair terminal together with the items to repair, and will count against the repair costs at the same conversion rate as when converted to ammo. This should also take care of melee users' valid complaints everywhere outside of Aakas instances. Calypsians and others have been just as mad over "crapnel" ever since.
relog resets the cooldown but that's a hassle, no need for the cooldown. I thought this was a bit of a cheap workaround to start with, but now I like it. You can hold a hundred keys with only 1tt tied up instead of one or two thousand ped. Just need to get rid of that cooldwon.
So, this is nice, but I can't do anything until the refund comes in, so......I guess I'll check back next week? GL in the instances guys Tor
I like to use melee and I've not complained about UA in the past but this is bad. I'm trying to skill melee atm but you've effectively banned melee users from the aakas
For strict Melee users, as a 'work-around' (for now), you could perhaps enlist the help of a shooting friend? Give him your Key, and be together in a team, so your friend is the keyholder: and he converts & receives the UA. After the team enters the door, he can refrain (or do the instance with you anyway), while remaining in the team. (Technically that will mean logging off, until he's timed out I guess? Or can you leave back out through the door again?) It will require a certain amount of trust of course: because he will have to trade you back the value of the UA in peds/something else. No idea if that will work as envisioned, but if it does: it might be an option? Also: aren't there some new Melee weapons that also use UA? Perhaps that could be another way to use up (at least some) Universal Ammo? But yeah, not just for this, but in general: it would be nice if Melee could be given some sort of use for UA.
